Never The Twain wasn't bad either with that wonderful pairing of Windsor Davies and Donald Sinden.

Can't say I've heard of that. I take it it's worth a watch? Is it a straight drama or a comedy?

Bleak Expectations is a 4 series strong Dickens spoof (R4 of course cough cough)...am expecting a reasonable transition as the xmas episode was quite silly...so to answer...its a comedy ahem.

Had the fortune to catch The Unnforgetable morcombe and Wise and was rather happy to see they had a compilation of all peter Cushings appearences in the show. Morcombe -"Sawing a Peter Cushing in half trick!" Cushing -"Will I get payed?" Morcombe -"You'll get your cut!"

While we're on the subject of vintage comedy duos, i daresay i actually approve of Cannon And Ball's '80s output. That includes their '83 feature film The Boys In Blue too and i own the U.K. DVD. Stop sniggering at the back! Yours truly also likes the latter day entries of The Last Of The Summer Wine with Frank Thornton among others. Nothing wrong with a little bit of inoffensive, gentle and rural humour every now and then.

The '85 OFAH Christmas special 'To Hull And Back' is most definitely my fave feature-length outing for the Trotters. Absolute amusement from start to finish. I love David Jason's dialogue delivery after Del Boy and co have left Holland via boat and arrive home several hours late after losing their direction on the waves: Boycie:"Where the 'ell 'av you been?!" Del Boy:"We got into a little spot of trouble. Got lost in the middle of the North Sea. Then Rodney spotted the Zeebrugge to Hull ferry." Abdul:"And that is how you got to Hull?" Del Boy:"No, that is how we got to Zeebrugge! It was going the wrong bloody way!! So we had to wait for it to turn around and follow it back again."

Admittedly, the only modern TV comedy yours truly has time for is Benidorm. I enjoy this effort much more than i thought i would and it's so colourful to look at. Benidorm always reminds me of time off work too as i was on annual leave when i first got into the series.
