I watched season 1 when it aired and then read all of the books in between season 1 and 2 so don't come to me with your sob stories that you had to watch 60 hours of exciting TV

I read the books first, still impatiently waiting on the final book

How's to the shows compare to the books?

They’re pretty faithful up until the end of the third book and then they start to differ quite substantially! Some things work much better in the books, such as Ramsay and Reek and then other things are much better in the TV show!

It’s worth reading them but at this point with so much diversity between the two it won’t make a huge difference.

I'd recommend reading them, like Justin said they start splitting by book 3.

The wonderful Kristen Chenoweth sings the Game of Thrones theme.

Probably not much interest to most people on the forum, but Urban Decay have just announced their cosmetics collection based on 'Game Of Thrones'

This includes

Eyeshadow, containing House Targaryen (jewel-tone shimmers), House Lannister (regal metallic mattes and shimmers), House Stark (smoky mattes and neutral shimmers) and the White Walkers (cool, icy shimmers) are all included in a fancy 3-D pop-up palette

Eyeshadow brushes, inspired by Jon Snow's Longclaw Valyrian steel sword and Arya's Needle

Eye liner, available in Dragon Smoke (smoky holographic black), Lannister Gold (metallic gold), The Night King (shimmery dark teal) and Winterfell Snow (iridescent white).

Lip and cheek stain

And lipsticks, which come in Cersei Lannister (bright metallic bronze), Daenerys Targaryen (fiery metallic red), Sansa Stark (warm peach nude), and White Walker (deep berry-wine).

I 'challenged' myself to recap the last three seasons of GoT before the big day next week and I've been so terribley rubbish at watching them that I still have 3 episodes of season 6 and all of season 7 to watch before Sunday

Season 6 has been awesome though on re-watch, perhaps one of the best seasons? Our champion the 'Queen of Thorns' telling Cercei that she is one of the most vile people she's ever met Ayra's storyline with the faceless men, HOLD THE DOOR *cries*, Dany and the Dothraki fire!!

My eldest son started watching it for the first time in September, so we’ve been chatting about it without me spoiling any of it, he’s about midway through 6, so he should be caught up in time for next week.
I, on the other hand have been watching the odd episode here and there, such as Battle of the Bastards and I’ve literally just finished watching the Season 7 finale a few minutes ago.
It’s fair to say I’m pretty damn excited for Season 8!

IGN did each season recap in 5 minutes videos think I'll just watch those rather than try cram in 70 episodes in a week 😄
