Pilot episode of Deep Space 9, was going to try to watch them in chronological order but that's gone out of the window.

The Bill: In The Firing Line. PC Dale Smith's undercover assignment to nab a drug dealer takes a decidedly sinister turn when he is approached to kill a police informant - by first abducting and torturing a police officer for info on the informant's location. Smithy's problems only intensify when he learns the officer being targeted is Sun Hill's own DCI Jack Meadows... This is a cracking episode, a real thriller!

Watched the first few episodes of The Mentalist last night. Up till now i have yet to watch an entire episode. I must admit that i was put off by the lead character who seemed insufferably smug whenever i caught a few minutes of it on telly. Having sat through the first 3 episodes, he is mildly annoying, but good-natured enough to offset it - which seems to be his colleagues thoughts also. Good stuff so far actually.

Watching the pilot episode of the xfiles, which I did have before but did my usual and sold it before I had even finished the first season. Forgotten what a fanatsic job has been done with the restoration light years ahead of the old DVD releases.

Do you approve of reframing from 1.33:1 to 1.78:1?

I'm guessing it looks okay though, and none of the weirdness which apparently plagues the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reframing (I've heard some scenes look as if they were filmed by a camera hidden in a bag, and even some members of the cast and crew are visible when they shouldn't be), so it is more like The Wire. Is that the case?

Would say more like the wire not noticed anything weird with the picture.
