http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...0a3638fea3.jpg Simon Templar ( Sir Roger Moore) is the Saint a millionaire playboy who is the scourge of the police world wide because taking matters into his own hands to help those in need or danger . Templar is a fantastic creation who is handsome, smart and caring but also has a darkside and believes in a tooth for tooth and an eye for an eye and is not above killing those who he thinks deserve it. A great show with some great co stars and story's that still stand up today but of course the real star here is Moore's performance. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...eb3acf964a.jpg The seaview is the most powerful craft on or under the seven seas. The main crew members are captain Lee Crane ( David Hedison) and Adm. Harriman Nelson designer of the seaview who every week along with the rest of the intrepid crew battle either some type of creature or Cold War / Bond type situation. The first season is black and white but the following three seasons are colour. By the second season we saw less and less " serious " story's and more creature of the week episodes. |
1 Attachment(s) No Job for a Lady - Strange Bedfellows (1991) Fairly average, well at least compared to Yes Minister, comedy starring Penelope Keith as Jean Price, a newly appointed Labour MP. This opening, standout episode of series 2, tackles the issue of top shelf porn and how it corrupts our youth. For once Labour and the Tories agree on something - it should be banned...to a certain degree...but only the filth that they don't actually buy themselves. Clearly Gay Times was one to go, as posh Tory George Baker puts it 'There aren't any gay Tories...' well except the one asking for the mag in the newsagent stood next to Jean, but clearly it was 'for a friend who was too embarrassed to ask for it'. Anyway this was a classic episode of PG rated filth. If you've ever wanted to see Penelope Keith discuss the pros and cons of porn then this is for you. Half an hour of proper laugh out loud moments. |

Just started watching 11.22.63. Only on first episode but it seems decent. Anyone watched? |

Me, I've been watching it since it started airing in America. Due to being too busy, I've still got the final 3 episodes to watch, but I've really enjoyed it. It does defer from King's novel in some places, but not as much/bad as Under the Dome, which started out ok and went downhill rapidly (I gave up midway through season 3!). I like James Franco, so I think he plays the part of Jake really well  |

Yeah, it only started the other week on Fox after The Walking Dead finished  |
I was going to ask if it was on NowTV but that's answered my question, I'll see if I can watch the first episode tonight. |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFfFuwd5L5c New York cop James Dempsey ( Michael Brandon ) is sent to London after he stumbles upon high ranking New York police department personal involved in criminal actives. Once he reaches London he his teamed up with Sargent Harriet Shagpeice sorry Makepeace (Glynis barber) it's definitely not a case of love at first site with Makepeace having little time or respect for Dempsey but it's soon obvious to everyone but them that there is an mutual attraction. There first case involves millions of GBP worth of caviar but this soon leads to something far more sinister and far reaching with global effect. A highly enjoyable show that works because of the chemistry between the two stars, which some of it must of been for real as they married in 1989 and are still married till this day |
I take it you are flicking between box sets, Treb. I trust you haven't watched all the ones in full you've mentioned up to now. |

Watching the first episode of 11.22.63 |
Doomwatch (1970) Finally the series goes out on location with three excellent episodes - The Devil's Sweets, The Red Sky and Train and De-Train. Taking in perils like subliminal advertising (Far better than it sounds), sensory damage on the Cornish coast due to jet engine testing and pesticide destruction of wildlife. This first series has really upped it's game in it's second half and is now much anticipated viewing for me. Roll on this evening. |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCFVEvZvo3g Just as good as a remember from my childhood. Network have done a amazing job of the restoration the picture quality on the blu rays is phenomenal . Fast paced, great acting and story's with lots of familiar faces from the 70s and 80s British Tv. Also each season comes very a rather interesting book on the season in question. |
Doomwatch - The Battery People (1970) In a way this episode which turned out to be rather sinister reminded me a little of the 1972 film. With an outcome which was rather creepy, the story involved the Doomwatch team investigating a fish farm in North Wales which it turns out is producing boneless fish due to chemical agents in the water. Come the end it wasn't just fish which had no bones. Nicely acted with good location work and vomit inducing sequences of battery chickens not to mention cock fighting, this episode shows why the series holds a BBFC 15 certificate. This series is just getting better and better. |
Just watched SUPERGIRL 'Worlds Finest'. Supergirl joins forces with The Flash to take down Live Wire and Silver Banshee. Good episode with some nice 'buddy' team up moments. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/62...4a42f227d1.jpg |

Really should give Martian man hunter his own show, |
Yeah, Martian Manhunter is great. I only have a couple of episodes to watch and season 1 is complete. It has been a fun ride and I'm so glad it's been picked up for a second season. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/17...7a465cb802.jpg |

I know the head of CBS said all their new shows would be back, but Supergirl is the only one that still hasn't been officially announced. Even the showrunner hasn't been told (unless I've missed the news these last couple of days). Apparently we should know for sure around the middle of May. I really hope it does return though. |

I wouldn't agree with that, I think it's one of the better SK adaptations, plus (much like the book) it got me reading up on all the conspiracy theories regarding JFK's assassination by his own government.... |

Doomwatch (1970) I can't even give the title of this episode in case it spoils anyone's future viewing. Sadly the final two episodes of the first series were wiped and never recovered by the BBC so the events of this episode, the opening one of series 2, came as a bit of a shock. Just as shocking is the sub plot in which Professor Ridge goes investigating genetic experiments. What he finds is well, just wow!!! I never thought 70's tv would be as cutting edge as it's become. After a shaky opening couple of episodes, Doomwatch is fast becoming a real favourite of mine. |
Doomwatch: Invasion. (1970) Whilst exploring some caves two lads go missing in the Yorkshire Dales. Doomwatch investigate but come across an old country estate patrolled by armed military personnel with orders to kill anything that enters. In a claustrophobic story which harks back to military experiments during the second World War, this is the best episode yet. I sound like a broken record in my comments on this series, but it just keeps getting better and better. It helps possibly that this episode is set quite close to me in the village of Grassington and the nearby town of Skipton is mentioned in the dialogue. Earlier on i was desperate for the team to get outside, well this story is set outside and it's all the better for it. As with many of these stories the outcome is grim especially when the serene village is closed off to the world and the place is crawling with military vehicles and troops. The place still feels like a village and a community where everyone knows everyone else. All the more disturbing because it could actually happen. The Royal Engineers were actually used in this episode not just extras. Not a jolly series. It ain't called Doomwatch for nothing. If anyone wishes me to stop mentioning every episode that's okay. I will do. It's a series i highly recommend and stands up superbly in the here and now. |

Just a load of long haired blokes kicking shit out of each other with a dwarf and a couple of small dragons thrown in for good luck. |
There so many shows and films ive never seen and this is one of them, i mean i also think i must be one of the very rare few who havent seen new star wars yet. Thats how bad i am for not getting round to watching things. |
Has anyone seen the two Marvel series Agent Carter and Agents of Shield? At two for £13 on dvd at HMV it seems a bargain. Are they recommended? |
