I picked up the BU Blu-ray of Vampyres for £7.45 delivered from an eBay business seller. I think they listed it wrongly, as several minutes after ordering it, it went up to £17.45. Still, they honoured the price and I got it cheap - brand new! I'll take a look at it later this week.

If you don't like it, I'll happily give you £8 for it!

I don't think this has been mentioned (I haven't tracked back, sorry if it has been brought up). The Network label site is currently having a "Gerry Anderson" sale and has the Ltd Edition Space 1999 Blu going for £29.99. Great bargain! No link as it keeps asking me for a log-in.

Well, after nearly diving in at £14.99 and holding off thinking it'd be at that price some other time and so much else to buy, the Spaghetti Western set is now down at Play to..

£9.99!!!

Probably will be 24 hour at that price knowing Play so best be quick!

Spaghetti Westerns Blu-ray Collection (3 Discs) (Blu-ray) - Blu-ray at Play.com (UK)

From the reviews on play.com people are saying the transfer is not good I am not sure if to purchase or not now

Yeah, that was my reason for not upgrading to blu for that box set. I'd love to see Leone's trilogy in hi-def but the reviews have so far put me off

At £3.30 each it's less than I paid for the old dvd's. It's the only English-friendly version of TGTBATU. FAFDM is supposed to look great and the Italian disc of AFOD is supposed to be better but still, you can always buy that and look at it as £5 each for the other two, which is still dirt cheap! :)

That's more than enough acronyms for one post...

Pretty much my thoughts on this one - worth a gamble at that price! Plus, the extras and the films will all be on the one disc, which is more convenient that the 2-disc DVD editions (bit of a lazy motivation I know! :o)

PaulD 30th January 2011 05:17 PM

Took the plunge on the Spaghetti Western set. Hopefully I can make a bit of the money back by selling my 6-disc set on eBay or might put my first toe in the water of the cult-labs trading system...

I can confirm it's still £9.99 as I decided to take a punt, risking the below par PQ, and have just ordered the set. Thanks for the tip, blob!

I've just ordered the Edgar Wright 3-movie BR boxset from Zavvi, at a wallet friendly £17.95. It includes Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim.

These reviews are no doubt from characters who sit there looking for imperfections like that twat and the land of whimsy.

Yeah I was very happy with the transfers... Very detailed, solid colours, plenty of grain... Best they have ever looked or sounded on home cinema... For £3.33 each you would be mental not to get this trilogy!!:p

Nice! I bought Scott Pilgrin on BD last week - watched it last night and it's tremendous. For an extra £3 I could have got this set and upgraded the other 2 films to BD, damn

Issues with transfers; it's always down to the individual and their appreciation of what makes a movie look good. I've seen about 10 minutes of AFFOD on my trilogy BR and it looks great to me. But, I'm a fan. A casual watcher who has the DVDs might want to just stick with them.

If it still exists on here, the debate on the Predator "ultimate edition" speaks volumes....

I watched it and thought it was rubbish! I just couldn't get into it.

Yeah, I still have the dvd's. Not really that much of a Moore fan so only relly plan on upgrading the Connery's and OHMSS when they all finally get released. Possibly a couple of Brosnan's as well..

Oh no.... Your NOT a Roger Moore fan!? :o:loco: :p

Just kidding, don't want to start a big 'who was the best Bond' debate, that would be very off topic :p

That is a great price for all them films though!
