I actually do - due to my limited eye sight.

I've no problem watching the feature as such, but I can't read any moving texts at the same time, which are smaller than the flick's title.

So I strongly prefer watching films in the languages I speak, which neither- sadly!- include French, nor Italian.

I do however appreciate the fans's craving for an original language track...though I would think twice before purchasing a movie without either English or German audio options.
Luckily, my Swedish was good enough for "Thriller" though...

Yeah, particularly in Scandinavia, where anything (except programmes and features for children) is released subtitled.
I gave up with my Finnish "Le Pacte des loups" ("The Brotherhood of the Wolves") DVD and willl eventually replace it with the German release...for the dub.

I don't mind subtitles myself. In the case of Salo they helped cover up some of the images.

I don't mind em either and have had many subtitled VHS in the past but I haven't got one friend who will watch a subtitled film unless its porn.
BTW I don't like porn, I find it extremely offensive.

I was asking as I wondered if Shameless had any plans of releasing at least one of these wonderful gallio's in Italian with subs.

I had a vhs of Deep Red like this and it was great.

Sorry Peter, I never thought about sight problems yet I have to wear 1 pair of glasses for TV and a different pair for reading.
I don't need them for anything else but if I go out without my reading glasses in my bag I couldn't go looking for DVD's as I couldn't read the spines.

The longer cut of the film is in Italian with subtitles. Seems to be a matter of personal choice but I prefer this version to the shorter dubbed print.

I prefer to watch the original language if it's got the original actors or wild sound. If it's an old Hong Kong film or some other exploitation film I'll usually want to go for the English track, people say they are badly dubbed, but I say the only reason you say that is you can understand it, if you could understand the other language you'd probably think that was badly dubbed too.

I don't mind subtitles, but as I said if it's not an artistic film (from a script view point) and it's dubbed in it's own language anyway I go for english.

I love porn, not much of it is subtitled though, but is more fun when it's subtitled.

I could never bring myself to watch porn.

I have seen porn but I worry about the girls safety in them.
I read statements from Linda Lovelace were she said she had a gun pointed at her and she was forced to preform with a collie dog.

I saw some sick stuff after a short visit to Germany and have never watch porn since.
I refuse to believe those girls are doing some of those things of their own free will.

I love subtitles!

I generally prefer to watch a film in its original language so subtitles are a must for me. Especially as I love Korean horror cinema.

Subtitles = cheaper than learning Korean!
