I agree Christian, I have the VCI myself and can't see why it gets such a hard time, maybe my old eyes are bleary because it doesn't look bad to me at all. A staggeringly good film!

VCI used the same pal master as the German dvd which looks pretty good.
Unfortunately the VCI disc is a pal-ntsc transfer that just doesn't look as good as the pal master did.
But...I also liked the extra's on the VCI dvd especially the commentary track by Tim Lucas.

Anyway even the German dvd leaves room for improvement imho.

Agreed, would be nice to see an uncut uk release of blood and black lace.

Death laid an egg would be an interesting choice, mainly as its not got a legit dvd release anywhere (correct me if i'm wrong). But its one hell of an odd film, first time i saw it i loved it, but watched again recently and didn't enjoy it as much. If it does get released would love to see it with this artwork from the greek vhs

Just love that artwork, possibly my favourite film artwork ever, though its got nothing to do with the film.

Oh, and am I the only person here who likes dont go in the house?

There was an official Japanese dvd of Death Laid an Egg if I'm not mistaken (King Records).

I like Don't Go in the House as well btw...

I'd like to see a decent release of A Blade in the Dark or Phenomena

The previous UK releases of Blade and Phenomena were quite good, although they had no extras they had excellent 16:9 transfers.

The Phenomena one was nothing special. It was good that it was in widescreen but it deserves a better release than the one it was given

I thought it was an excellent transfer, DVD Delirium called it outstanding.

There was talk of Code Red releasing Nightmare (Nightmare in a Damaged Brain) but that was ages ago so maybe it fell through. I would love to see that remastered and in its proper ratio. It's had an interesting history (labelled as a video nasty, debate as to who provided the effects) that a documentary or trivia track would go along great with it as well.

I'm not sure what kind of international releases these have had but I think they'd make great additions to Shameless' catalogue -

What Have You Done to Solange?
The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh
The Church
The Case of the Bloody Iris
The Bloodstained Butterfly
Your Vice Is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key
Milano Odia (aka Almost Human)
Ruggero Deodato did a film in the eighties called Body Count which I have yet to see but am curious about.
