Taking a group of diverse strangers, all with their own twisted motivations and sometimes dark secrets, trapping them together in a perilous life and death situation and letting them argue themselves into a early grave. It’s a classic plot device you’ll see in crime films, where the greed of the characters serves to destroy them all and in the Horror movie, when the survivors can’t stop bickering for long enough to put a good distance between themselves and the rapidly approaching zombie horde. In so many great films, out inability to stop talking for one second ultimately leads to our untimely demise.
When you’re trapped in a metal tube, thousands of feet above the freezing ocean, the sense of urgency becomes a little more intense. Here we see passengers and crew as they descend into pointed fingers and unfounded accusations, but who are the real killers? Whose pulling everyone’s strings and making them all dance?
