Watched and liked Mountaintop Motel Massacre and The Initiation and Dragonwyck.

I am surprised The Initiation doesn't have a bigger reputation amongst slasher fans.

Watched Singapore Sling last night, and yes BE i blame you for a wasted Saturday night.

I did enjoy it but a bit bizarre to say the least, my thoughts are if Buttgerit had made Thundercrack (without xxx) with a bit of Candle For The Devil thrown in, this would of been the result

My Bloody Valentine (2009)
Not bad as remakes go and some nice kills but a jumbled storyline and pacing problems.
The original still blows this one away though, especially since the uncut version has now surfaced (US dvd/bd).

Watched Night of The Living Dead last night. Hadn't seen it in a few years since I'd previously owned the awful 30th anniversary edition. Loved it, obviously.

Well,I didn't think it was good either but a lot better than the other slasher remakes I've seen so far.
And it had some good kills which is important for a slasher movie.
What are your thoughts on the original?

I thought the MBV remake was one of the best remakes I've seen this side of Aja's The Hills Have Eyes.

My main issue was that it stuck so closely to the (amazing) original that it cannot help but compare badly.

Also, the 3D effects and depth of field are some of the best I have ever seen.

I really enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed MBV in 3D at the cinema too. Some great 3D .. second best to Final Destination IMHO. Anyway, was and is a good remake as far as remakes go ... not pointless as say ANOEL. Most of the CGI gore was a little off putting though.

i thought MBV remake was bad, not as bad as Friday or NOES but still not that good.
The 3D was just in ur face shots etc and was not impressed.
Each to their own and all that jazz

hills have eyes is still my fav remake and imo a million times better then original.

Last night I watched the documentary Cropsey about a urban legend in Stanton Island NYC. It was about these mentally handicapped kids that got kidnapped and a few of them were found dead in the 80s while others bodies were never found.
it was quite interesting, the guy that got arrested for it never spoke at his trial or in any interviews so we will never know if he actually did it.
