Apparently they'll be working on Frankenstein Created Woman in the future but there's a lot to come before it. Strange it went down the pecking order behind Viking Queen and Vengeance Of She.

Monster From Hell sounds like it won't be too far away as it's listed in the same phase as Curse.

Looks like Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed will be down to Warner as on the restoration blog Hammer mentioned they don't own the rights so won't be restoring.

The Hammer Restoration blog, updated recently, says that their release of Curse of Frankenstein will be presented in the academy ratio of 4:3, as they're convinced this is the actual ratio. This is, of course, causing debate, as many people believe the true OAR to be !.66:1. It'll be interesting to see it presented full frame having now got used to the widescreen framing.

The restoration will be getting a theatrical screening on Saturday 14th July in London and that's when they're going to announce the release date for the Blu. They'll tweet it at the same time, so I'll keep an eye out for when that happens. I'm hoping they'll put it out it in time for Halloween.

I'm not entirely convinced but if they say so... It's not that long ago so maybe someone who was actually here will confirm. Personally, I'd have thought that in 1957 the AR would have been open to a lot of interpretation between Academy, 1.66:1 in the UK and 1.85:1 in the US. I think they should cover the bases just in case they're wrong and have a 1.66:1 version as well.

Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell is definitely one of Hammer's gorier flicks, it oozes atmosphere too.I've got the excellent German DVD but doubtless I'd buy it on Blu-ray too.If this was your first Hammer Frankenstein movie I'd say you probably picked the best one.Curse and Must Be Destroyed follow on pretty close behind though.

Damn, so the only way is down ? Re: the gore - I was reading about that on dvdcompare last night, so that German dvd is the most complete cut. I did spot the shot of the director's neck wound seemed cut short.

I'm quite new to Hammer in general, but currently in the process of seeing as many titles as I can - got Straight on till Morning tonight. I was looking at Shane Briant's website last night. For $50 you can get an hour long, one-to-one via Skype acting masterclass with him (" You see me, I see you. We work together - INTENSELY") . . .
