The Exorcist without a shadow of a doubt. I first read the book when I was 12, much to the annoyance of my English teacher, and dreamt of watching the film so imagine my delight when at the age of 20 I finally got to see in on the big screen at my local Showcase cinema. Me and my friends were late getting there so we ended up on the front row, I was blown away, my mates however laughed at it and said it was shit, nowhere near as good as Scream! After I'd disposed of their bodies I went home and started reading the book again, I've since re-read every couple of years and the film has been in my collection since day one of release on VHS.

For me, it is The Exorcist then The Wicker Man with Don't Look Now in third place. A terrific year for horror.

There is very little between The Wicker Man and The Exorcist for me it was a very hard decision.
