I have the UK R2 Anchor Bay 5 Disc set, that also includes that nifty little colletors booklet. Though I must say that of the 4 films, SEAGULLS is my favourite. SEAGULLS, followed closely by TOMBS, then RETURN and lastly bringing up the rear, GALLEON.

I have a better idea, if we get a BluRay box set how about an upgraded coffin to go with upgraded discs. Maybe something more durable than cardboard. A nice hard plastic coffin with some decent detail to it. I have been toying with the idea of sculpting one digitally and checking prices to get it printed.

Yours truly snapped up two copies of the above release when the much-missed Music Zone were selling it for the stunning sum of £8! However, i still keep hold of BU's coffin edition too, though for it's overall superiority. Lovely PQ on the first film but imo the subsequent two follow-ups look noticably less impressive. I never saw the last entry as my DVD player refused to recognise the disc as an actual DVD and kept accepting it as a CD! Presumably, there must've been a balls-up at ABUK HQ when the relevant titles were being processed and i'm guessing some blank CDs were mistakenly used for disc authorisation instead of DVDs. Crazy, eh?

I have the UK boxset but I kept my OOP Blind Dead double bill disc (AB US),as it contained the footage cut by the BBFC.It also contains the inferior heavily cut release of Return Of The Evil Dead.Shame it's a 'flipper' though. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tombs-Return...131448&sr=1-12 Last edited by mark meakin; 24th November 2011 at 09:46 AM. |

If these films were put out on BD minus the coffin housing, I'd simply take the DVDs out of the BU coffin box and put the BDs in there instead!

According to DVD Compare BU's ROTED release boasts both the shorter Stateside edit and the complete Spanish cut of the film. The ABUK edition offers the latter print only. Hope this helps.

I think it's only a matter of time before BU unleash The Blind Dead on BR and i'll just have to make sure i've got some cash handy on the day. There's no way i'm missing out on these stylish Spanish splatfests in HD.

Apparently, there won't be any BRs of BLIND DEAD from BU.
