I've just got back from an evening showing and I'm pleased to say I enjoyed it very much indeed. It's not as good as the original (though I never expected it to be) but as far as remakes go this one hit the spot and offered what Slashers are there to provide - entertainment. The kills were very good with the pickaxe through the *ahem* private region a definite highlight, it was great to see some good old fashioned gore on show. The characters were also very well realised with a surprisingly suspenseful story and no annoying twits that you'd just love to see get it.

*** SPOILER ***

What I didn't like was to see Axel (who was a complete and utter prick) become the hero at the end. I found Tom to be likeable and someone who I could relate to in part. To see the 'twist' was frustrating, the whole HIGH TENSION recycling was totally lame, it was a cop out, basically.

*** SPOILER OVER ***

All in all though, a very entertaining remake indeed and it even had good 3D effects on show. Is 2009 the year of the slasher movie? Here's hoping!

You get to keep the 3D specs? What were the 3D effects like?

Yep it's all in 3D and there's no red/blue lenses either, it was just sunglasses with everything pointing out at you. C'mon go and see it before it stops showing, it's not every day you get body parts flying at you! it was the most fun cinematic experience I've ever had.

It certainly has moved on. The 3D in this film was incredible. You're in for a treat tomorrow. Hell, this has made me want a home cinema now!

Jaws 3-D was terrific on the flicks. Absolutely dreadful otherwise though.
