Reaps, you absolutly have to seen this film in the cinema! The way this 3D works, relies on the actual cinema's projector and...stuff. I read somewhere, that when this film comes out on DVD, it will use the red/cyan 3d - but that never looks that great - especially compared to this 'real-D' as they call it!

I also saw Friday 13th Pt 3, Spacehunter: Adventures In The Forbidden Zone, Love In 3-D, Dynasty (kung fu western) and What The Swedish Butler Saw in 3-D. How sad is that? Also saw Earthquake and Rollercoaster in Sensurround (remember that?). |

And then in a year or so they will be bringing it out on 3D Blu-Ray where if you have a 3D capable Plasma screen you should be able to watch it in full colour 3D like at the cinema. But as far as this film goes the only reason to watch it, is to watch it in 3D. Also you say technology has 'moved on' infact most of the early 3D films from the 50s to the 70s used polarised projection using two projectors so you could see them in full colour, it's only when the cinemas had one projector (that could hold 1 whole film easily) that they made the red green prints with those horrible glasses. And the way it used to be polarised is how they did it in imax, where one projector output is set out through a grid of horizontal lines and the other through a grid of vertical lines with glasses to match. Which unfortunately meant if you tilted your head slightly to the side you saw both viewpoints in both eyes. But real-D (and I'm guessing here) seems to use one sent though a clockwise spiral filter and the other through an anti-clockwise spiral filter, meaning you can turn your head all you like you'll just end up getting a headache due to confusion rather than seeing both views. Also you can keep the glasses yeah but what's the point when you get given more the next time you go? |

When Earthquake was shown in Sensurround at the Astor Cinema years ago my old mate Les Hill (cinema manager - now RIP) tried to nab the special speakers but alas he was told to sod off. |

What did you think to MBV:3D then, vincenzo? Reaps, have you ordered your ticket yet? Remember to be sure it's definitely showing it in 3D as I read over at Cult Movie Forums that SimonT didn't check and attended the 2D version instead (after a long drive) I find that hilarious for me some reason, pure comedy, sorry Simon! I'm surprised Peter Neal hasn't commented yet, I'd have thought it was a must see for him.
