Spectre opens in the UK with a record breaking £41.7m

When you consider the last Mission Impossible film opened to £8.3m that's some going.

Spectre is still doing business Stateside.

It's doing the drive ins and has been doing for a few weeks. Usually showing at around twenty screens a week raking in $50,000+ each week.

So, Daniel Craig is not interested in doing any more 007 films

How about this...

According to the press, Barbara Broccolli and San Mendes have met up with Tom Hiddleston.

I can't think of anything worse than Tom Hiddleston as James Bond.

I'm not sure really. He might be good. I certainly liked him in The Night Manager.

It depends what they want really. I presume the producers want someone to play Bond over a series of films so he has to be young enough now to still be able to play the role in ten years time as well. In that respect Hiddleston fits the bill whereas as Idris Elba may well be seen as too old.

As Bond has shifted more towards 'generic action' anyway since Craig's tenure as 007, they should just go all out and hire The Stath as the next Bond.
