I thought the pic quality was very good as well and comes with 5.1 and DTS surround.

Isn't there something of a prominent piracy problem over in the East with regards to DVD releases? Not sure if it's the same for BR.

It's because of this that i generally won't touch HK SD output and stick with U.S. and U.K. editions.

A friend of mine brought me a mainland China dvd today and it was one of those "without case" thingies, just a slipcase (no cover!) and a dvd (that was scratched of course) in a plastic bag.
So seems this is not unusual for mainland China dvd's,I've seen loads of similar Thai dvd's.

That's good to know but i just can't get the stigma of bootleg HK output out of my head so i'm still keeping my distance from R3 titles.

Poor product presentation to say the very least and there's no way i'd buy any DVD release packaged like that.

If only I had known beforehand I never would have ordered my Police Story 3. The company did say they'd seek out an amaray case version and if they find one they'll post it to me, fingers crossed then but I'm not keeping my hopes up.

I would imagine it is done to keep costs down. On top of that I believe that VCDs are much more popular in that part of the world than DVDs because they are less expensive.

Does anyone have the Panorama DVD of A Kid from Tibet starring Yuen Biao? If so is the image quality any good and is the transfer anamorphic?
