No, but there are two separate commentaries, one with Kim Newman and Alan Jones and the other by Thomas Rostock who, between the three of them, know a thing or two about Argento and his movies!

I'm sure they'll be very entertaining and insightful commentaries but we'll have to keep the Anchor Bay DVD for the directors commentary, after all, who would know more than Argento himself?

It also provides me with a great "justification" to hold on to my AB DVD as a "backup" disc for the alternate extras and said commentary . "Tenebrae" is the film I never get tired of double-dipping over and over.... |

I agree. Commentaries by Argento himself sound good in theory, but they don't really work. If he could do commentaries in Italian it would be a different story. Alan Jones comes across as too much of a Hello Magazine gossip queen for me, but Kim Newman more than makes up for it on every commentary they do. There isn't a better man to do commentaries than him (or Christopher Frayling) IMO. |

Kim Newman really knows his stuff and has a real passion for films, which is a lot more than can be said for many critics of his age. The commentaries of his I've heard are great. This is definitely a deal-maker for me. I think out of all of argento's films, TENEBRAE is the one that could definitely do with an HD makeover the most. All my DVDs (I have the US, UK, Dutch and German releases) are all pretty mediocre imagewise. |

I have read that Pete .. but I am now curious just how distracting they are, if at all.
