Picked up this absolute gem in a charity shop for £2. Such an interesting little book full of curious things, some of which are described in toe curling, blood curdling, stomach churning detail!! And it is written by the nation's favourite- the one and only late Jeremy Beadle!

I loved Jeremy Beadle....I respected him. Plus I really liked Beadle's About and You've Been Framed but he was an interesting, smart guy.

I picked up a number of titles from the Penguin 80p Classics selection - well worth picking a few up.

Love The Tinder Box.

Have you got the dvd of it as well? It's matched with the equally delightful Singing Ringing Tree.

No, I don't even know if I still have the Singing Ringing Tree - I'm sure they did the Tales for Europe set with both but I bought the Singing Ringing Tree for James - he was very nostalgic about it, not sure if he took it or simply forgot that I'd bought it for him - he did that a lot.

I've a few of those wee Penguin Little Black Classics as well. I also have the Communist Manifesto one.

I'm planning to fill in the gaps and get them all, eventually. Just ordering a few more now but I'm going to start at the beginning and order them in, well, order. Hopefully this will make it easier to keep track.

My bi-annual trip to Scriveners with a crisp £20 note bought me these goodies;

and for a bit of schooling....

It was also the best price......
