My thoughts exactly!

Brilliantly illustrated the tome in question and a visual delight for seasoned slasher supporters.

Is it a good read for people who are just starting to discover slashers or more for the "experienced slasher fan"?

I'm not too sure yet as i intend to start reading the book tonight.

But judging by one or two flick throughs i've had both novice and veteran slasher fans may both be well catered for.

I'm just over halfway through TW:TSMU and so far i think the book is probably best suited to those just dipping their toes into the stalk 'n slash pool. I've also noticed a select few inaccuracies and typos but nothing too off-putting. Visually, the tome is pretty pleasing, though.

Researching for an essay at the moment on the marketing of Herschell Gordon Lewis films, such picked up A Taste Of Blood: The Films Of Herschell Gordon Lewis and managed to find The Amazing Herschell Gordon Lewis - a book from the early 80s.

Anyone read either of these?

Have a look for this one too, "A Youth In Babylon: Confessions of a Trash-Film King" by David F. Friedman. A great introduction to the marketing of American exploitation and of course the films Friedman made with Lewis.

Forgot to say that the Something Weird Video releases of Lewis' Blood Trilogy have commentaries by Lewis and Friedman, if that's any help to you.

Is it the classics you are covering in your essay or are you looking also at Lewis's more obscure films like his two children's films or the Bill Rebane directed, Lewis produced oddity "Monster A-Go-Go"?
