Currently reading the debut novel by a friend of mine that he's sent me to proof read and offer criticism and feedback on. It's a "Dark Romantic Comedy" as he puts it, which isn't a genre I would usually read, but after only reading the first 4 chapters I'm already engrossed in it and have genuine feelings for the main characters, in fact I'm enjoying it so much that I've transferred it onto my phone to read on the bus or my second favourite seat in the house

I've always known he was destined for better things than working in an office for a major building society, the guy designed his own version of Monopoly when he was a kid based on our home town of Halifax called Tomonopoly (His name is Tom just in case you didn't get that ) and despite only being 25, he's probably the cleverest person I know!

Another one for the Christmas list. Cheers.

Generally if I ask for Shameless dvds or other horror they are hidden from certain parts of my family who will get offended.

You must a strange family of they get offended by horror DVDs, but not by books about snuff films and necrophilia!

Due to the imminent move, I have spent the last few days carrying bags of books to the local charity shops

It's quite heartbreaking, watching my childhood being given over a counter to a stranger, but it has to be done - we need to severely cut back on the number of things that we have to take with us

Because I love social history and the 60's remains an endlessly readable decade...

Oh no no they don't like any of it. Generally I ask for things and then they say cool and then later on realise what the content of the thing is. It happened when I asked for Pink Flamingos.

In fact I think I've worn my family down a bit. It's got to the point where sometimes a friend comes over and talks to me and my mum and sometimes it leads to me giving a showing of the singing asshole scene.

Maybe we'll just eventually sit and bond over porn. Also maybe not.

Just finished reading this and I've gotta say it is one of the best works of fiction I've read in a long time, and I'm not just saying that because he's a mate and I've known him a long time. It has a plot that had me gripped from the start and believable characters that I actually cared about. Fantastic stuff, which I'm certain will be happily picked up by a publisher in the future, I'm already thinking about turning it into a screenplay!

I have to read a few books for my final university paper.

This is the one I'm currently reading...

I started yesterday, and I love it.

Greetings!

Great book, it's one of the few books I try and read at least once or twice a year. Also, never seen that cover before
