I'd have thought he would have been someone you'd have been aware of previously, D. What with his Doctor Who connections and having an 'original' name. Perhaps you never read the Virgin New Adventures novels at the time. |

I knew he had written Remembrance. Just not that he had written novels. No, I've only recently started to read them (New Adventures) as no one local ever stocked them .... such is the life of a teuchter

Whispers Underground (3rd in series) Shenanigans in the sewers this time. Death Line gets a mention Enjoying this one more of the trio. Moon's denoument felt a bit rushed imo. This is shaping up a lot more organically. I keep seeing Kevin McNally as his mentor Will see about getting 4th shortly I suppose

I'm reading Sherlock Holmes for the first time! A Study in Scarlet was a great start, threw me off guard a bit Act 2 when it was suddenly 10 years ago in the Utah Salt Plains but it got it's mojo back pretty quickly after that! I'm now midway through Sign of Four and I'm enjoying this one a great deal more. No spoilers, I don't know how this one ends I have this ridiculously good value edition from Wordsworth Classics, it includes everything! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sherlock-Ho...herlock+holmes

I also 'read' the Sherlock Holmes stories this year or, more accurately, they were read to me by Stephen Fry. They are brilliantly constructed and very clever detective mysteries, so it's no wonder they were incredibly popular at the time they were printed and Sherlock Holmes became such a beloved character that many people even wore black armbands when he died.
