Thanks, Peter.

Every murder scene has been removed or heavily cut. The gang rape of course is reduced to virtually nothing. You can see by those stills why the scene will have to be cut here. The german release is absolutely worthless.

The films not exactly a work of art though believe me.

Looks like a gruelling experience.

Saying it's an 'hommage to 80's slasher flicks' will certainly make it a must see for some.

The link Peter gave featured some interesting cover art using some of the iconic 80's video sleeve art.

Be interesting to see how much is cut for the UK release.

The following movies have just joined the dreaded "Index of Restricted Movies" in Germany. Just to give you an idea what can get caught up in the censors' clutches within a month.

The "A" list means that those titles can now be only purchased in "Adult's Only" videostores, all advertising and open sale or hire in public is prohibited.

The "B" list menas that the BPJM strongly believes the title should be banned. Now it's up to the courts to decide, but most shops remove "B" list titles automatically.

Here it comes:

DVDs

Halloween Director's Cut A

Inside B

John Rambo A

Planet Terror A

Saw IV A

"Inside" is probably the cut-by-2-mins German version and the German release of "Saw IV" (which just hit DVD about 2 months ago over there) lost a minute to get released at all over there. I'm just left speechless for the moment....

Still no UK release for INSIDE. Surprising really.

Yeah, really. It hasn't found its way on Scandinavian DVD either so far, which is pretty strange considering that there wouldn't be any censorship issues whatsoever and the BBFC probably wouldn't have an issue with the violence committed by a woman either....so it must be rights issues of some sorts.
Somebody is probably asking for too much money...or whoever holds the rights "forgot about it". The latter happens a lot in Finland, with DVDs boosting Finnish subs coming out in the UK and elsewhere, but not in Finland....or only after over half a year or more time has passed and everybody has already imported the title...."Cruising" is a good example for a DVD which "Warner Finland" seems to have forgotten about.

According to "Another World Entertainment's" homepage, "Ichi, the Killer" has followed "Murder Set Pieces" on the list of banned movies in Norway!
I find this highly disturbing, because it'd be a shame if any of the Scandinavian countries take inspiration from those actions...

Click on the "News" section.

AWE on the other hand won't cut short on the controverisal stuff, with more naziploitation flicks to follow soon, among them: "The Beast in Heat"

Thats bad Peter.
I thought Norway had become pretty liberal.

Seems stupidity towards film is spreading.

The entertaining German slasher "Slasher" got an "unrated" release via Austria.

I know the regular version, which is worth checking out if you like slashers AND German B horrors (it even has English subs btw).

Here's a link to the alternate/extended scenes in the unrated version, texts in German only though.

Great title for a slasher film.
