I was a bit puzzled by the score of the ssd but after running the Samsung Magician Software OS Optimizer it went from 5.9 to 7.7 in the Windows Experience Index!

Gaming graphics also went up with 0.1 points.

I always have problems with YouTube, due to my crappy ISP, I'm hoping it's rectified next week when I have fibre optic installed.
It can take me up to half an hour to watch a trailer on YT sometimes, really frustrating

Should do, I know a couple of people nearby that have it and say it's super quick. The main reason why my internet can be so slow is due to the exchange being a couple of miles away in the next village

Trying to install Android on an old Sony Vaio laptop (VGN-SZ1XP):

Specifications

Sony Vaio VGN-SZ1XPNotebook: Sony Vaio VGN-SZ1XP (Vaio VGN-SZ Series)
Processor: Intel Core Duo T2500
Graphics Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 256 MB
Display: 13.3 inch, 16:10, 1280x800 pixels
Weight: 1.7kg

I think it has 1 Gb of ram (have to check edit: yes 1 Gb).

I tried installing this version android-x86-4.0-RC2-eeepc.iso - android-x86 - Android-x86 4.0-RC2 live and installation iso - An open source project to provide android support on x86 - Google Project Hosting

As used for this install:

But it doesn't work that well (graphics, mouse and no wifi problems)...does anyone have an idea which version would work better?

Android for x86 seems to be a work in progress...too many hardware devices are not yet supported it seems...going to try XBMCbuntu today.

This older notebook's hard drive and dvd drive are both toasted,so will have to install on a usb stick for now.

But will first have to try if it works.

Seem to have finally found something that works on this older notebook.
Running XBMCBUNTU now,a nifty Linux based media center.

The coloured line is a light reflection btw.

Just spend 3-4 hours downloading and installing Windows 7 updates (and SP 1) on my "new" laptop...about 140 important updates are now installed.

Think I'll have dinner and a shower before proceeding to install programs....
