I'm Now: The Story Of Mudhoney (2012)

Decent retelling of their story with most talking heads/ footage etc.

Found a Tad one as well, so that's my night sorted!!

When I saw Nirvana, Tad were the main act

I thought that were going to be huge while Nirvana would disappear into obscurity...

It was actually the 'Heavier Than Heaven' tour, but yes - it was promoting the 'Bleach' LP [vinyl back in those days!]

I saw the tour at the Portsmouth Polytechnic on October 28th, 1989. The Poly became the University in July 1992, and it's school motto is 'Lucem Sequamur' which translated into English means 'Let us follow the Light'

"Ra Ra Ra - We're gonna smash the oiks"

As a point of interest, the set list for this show, which I have an audience bootleg of [wonder how much that would be worth!] is:
  • School
  • Scoff
  • Love Buzz
  • Floyd the Barber
  • Dive
  • Polly
  • Big Cheese
  • Spank Thru
  • About a Girl
  • Token Eastern Song
  • Stain
  • Been a Son
  • Negative Creep
  • Blew

The Tad show, which I also have on tape, consisted of:
  • Helot
  • Pork Chop
  • Wood Goblins
  • Daisy
  • Behemoth
  • Nuts 'N' Bolts
  • Hibernation
  • Nipple Belt
  • High on the Hog
  • Ritual Device
  • Loser
  • Sex God Missy
  • Potlatch
  • Cyanide Bath

What a great set list – I wish I'd been at that gig.

Finally got to see this one.
Largely an overview of their extensive career told with archive footage and fans testimonies. Strap in for a slightly bumpy ride ahem. Whilst it's not yer archetypal rock biog (quel surprise) it does reflect their own sensibilities reasonably well imho.

I Am Divine (2013, Jeffrey Schwarz)

A look at Harris Glenn Millstead's life as the "trash" icon who surely needs no introduction. A bittersweet tone sadly hangs over the production, but that is unavoidable ....
This was decent enough. I haven't seen Divine Trash, so cannot compare it. The extras contained further interviews which fleshed out some anecdotes (this being the Peccadilo Pictures release)
I watched The Sparks Brothers this weekend, having no knowledge of the band at all, although it turns out I do know that ONE song... Loved it, great film making and very interesting subject, I'm also in love with Ron Mael now...

I've seen both of the Divine docs, I can't remember which is which but I did enjoy them both Need a rewatch soon.
