Went to have a mosey about in Brighton yesterday and found a CEX i didn't know existed so picked up these.

Attachment 207984 Attachment 207985

Didn't even know Gas-s-s-s was released over here.
I like 60's counter culture stuff such as Head, Alice's restaurant, The Trip etc, so will give it a go although i'm not expecting much, but it sounds interesting.

Also had a mooch around HMV, which is the first time i've been in one since the Eastbourne branch shut down about a year ago.
So that was nice.

Picked up some 88films titles in the 5 for £30 deal.

Pigs
Body Puzzle
Zombie flesh eaters 2
Dead next door
Touch of death

And finally picked up 3 A3 sized posters.

A few grabs for you below.

That's great. Thanks Dem. I'll order that now. :thankingyou:

THere's a little shop down the North Lanes in Brighton called Retrocards.

Attachment 207989

(Not my pic)

Looks as though they're online as well, the prints were £7.99 singularly or 3 for £6 each.
They do framed ones as well but i couldn't be assed carrying framed pictures about.

I was eyeing up an Onibaba one and Daughters of Darkness too, but maybe some other time.

Links not working.

Not much this week, with four things from Music Magpie and A Quiet Place last weekend. Of the Music Magpie releases, I've only seen the first Miss Congeniality (probably something I consider a guilty pleasure) and, when I was at primary school, Short Circuit. I've seen the theatrical version of Avatar a couple of times and fancy seeing all the extra features and what difference the extra 15 minutes makes.

It’s a fun film, I bought the disc when it first came out but I sold it on as it’s a one time only watch I think haha.

That's what used to be The Vintage Magazine co.
They had a big shop in Soho as well. Wonder of that's a Retrocards now?
Yeah, tons of those posters to look through.
I got this great Star Wars print from them with the Premiere and show times from the first UK showings in 1977. Over the moon with that.

I'm already eyeing up The Killing Joke :)

platostotal 20th August 2018 04:55 PM

£1.99 from Oxfam, this is my first BD that had a reputation for being a c*&t regarding firmware especially on Sony players, so had a test

http://i67.tinypic.com/2uz8rbq.jpg

Sony BD 360 W/current firmware.... a staggering 5 mins from disc load to 'play movie' button (ouch)

Panasonic BD 160 (much newer than the Sony)... 1 min 30 sec from disc load to 'play movie'

while the Sony was bad, not like some older Sony models which took 4-5 mins to load and then froze at main menu, double ouch:lol:

It's great , a very creepy atmospheric horror that relies on good story telling and atmosphere over gore . Think you both will enjoy it.

I thought it was superb when I saw it at the cinema so have been meaning to buy the 4K Ultra HD release since its release, but haven't done so yet.

Edit: Just bought the US release from eBay.

I did enjoy as well bit felt it lacked that something to stop it being a modern classic , defiantly worth 7 8 out of ten but a couple of scene (can't remember now ) slightly ruined it, just felt they didn't quite fit right .

Man, that Telefon DVD is shite. Full screen, which is bad enough, but picture and sound that make it appear like a YouTube copy that was downloaded from a VHS taped off the TV 30 years ago and then slammed on a DVD. Fricking unwatchable. Shame, sounds good, great cast too, but holy moly.
Someone bring it out on Blu ray.
