I've never been a fan of Kubrick but something clicked in my head the other night when I caught 10 minutes of "The Shining" on telly and I thought to myself, now I get it. I can't tell you what "it" is but all the problems I've had with Kubrick suddenly seemed to dissolved. So I picked these up on impulse on my way home from work with a couple of other films.

Is that Kubrick set worth picking up quality wise? I already have the shining and clockwork orange BD's but none of the others.

I reckon they'll release the shining again with both cuts before long to coincide with the re release at cinemas.

Yeah I decided on R1 Blu of The Shining just for the longer cut

Seen it on one of the channels a couple of times, once recently and once years ago, not sure which I prefer but good to have both. Might get the region one BD, where do you order your region one discs?

Strangelove looks f*****g amazing on blu-ray, simply stunning.


Zodiac is great too, it reminds me of an american made tv movie of the week, except made by a genius. Really takes its time (in a good way) to tell the story well, still one of my favourite fincher movies.
