Today's delivery. The Bava's and TCM2 made it through customs in the same package unscathed even though $33 was declared. Woo!

Nice one! Was good to see £10 value on the packaging my Twilight Times BD's were sent in. :)

ArgentoFan1987 12th October 2012 11:08 AM

Traded a bunch of shite DVD's into my local second-hand shop, Groucho's, and got £30 store credit!

Here's what I got:

*never seen

I've got another 8 photos to upload, but unfortunately, Tapatalk's being a stubborn bastard today :(

I'll try and post the rest ASAP.

ArgentoFan1987 12th October 2012 11:21 AM

Here's the rest (hopefully)

Well I managed another two.

Looks like I'm gonna have to do this in stages. Sorry guys :(

The package with Night of the Living Dead had (I think) $25 as the declared value, so a little over the £15 threshold. Enough to make the most anal Custom's official slap it with a charge and really irritate and annoy the recipient, but fortunately low enough to slip through.

Edgeworth 12th October 2012 12:05 PM

My Monsters coffin sent from Sainsbury's finally! Hopefully they learn what "pre-order" means. Although I wont be using them for new releases in the future. Glad I waited though, got it for £37. :D

Strange, mine definitely says $10

With all due respect, who are you to say that a film is s***e? It might be something that I have seen, and thought very highly of!

Very true, but trust me it was just a bunch of crappy b-movies, but thats why i traded them in, so someone else can get the use of them.

Sorry about my language :( my sister says the same about Doubt, but it was only £1.99 and came off of DVDs that were traded in.

Why would you seeing a movie and thinking highly of it have any kind of effect on his opinion of something being 'shite' or not? Should it really matter who he is? It's entirely his prerogative to feel what he likes about the movies and do what he likes with the DVDs.

One mans trash may be anothers treasure, but everyone is entitled to their beliefs.

Because I'm hunting down some rarer (and probably pricier) stuff at the moment I went for the bargain bin last time I went HK dvd shopping.
I love exploring bargains bins because they can sometimes contain some really unusual stuff and of course because they are cheap. ;)

So these arrived today, purchased for the grand total of 22 Euro (including registered shipping from HK):

Crazy Love (1993) (Wide Sight)
Haunted Mansion (1998) (Universe)
Last Hero in China (1993) (Universe)
Undercover Madams, The (2003) (City Connection)
In the Line of Duty 5 - Middle Man - Legendary Collection (1991) (Joy Sales) VCD

A lot of modern anime really benefits from Blu, HIGH SCHOOL OF THE DEAD LOOKED DAMNNED FINE.

It helps as well that black lagoon is such a genuinely entertaining series, anyone reading this not normally into anime should give it a try, its a wonderful homage to hard as nails action cinema from america and asia, great soundtrack as well.

Two reccomendations for Black Lagoon chap's. Lovefilm it. Netflix it. Watch it online. FREAKIN' SEE IT!

High School of the Dead is a lot of fun also. Not very good but alot of fun. If you can take boobies. LOT'S of boobies.

Hawkmonger 12th October 2012 05:10 PM

I agree. Curse of Frankenstein will be un-****ing believable! I should hopefully get my dispache email fairly soon then. Where have you ordered from Rik?

Zavvi, because they came out as the cheapest back in whenever it was I ordered it, although they are a bit slack with dispatching pre-orders lately

Bought and watched both Halloween 2 and Halloween 3 from Scream Factory and watched the features last night. Incredible and highly recommended. Watching the tv edit with original ending tonight of Halloween 2.

SShaw 12th October 2012 06:18 PM

Found the German Bluray of "Sennentuntshi" (wonderfully intricate cover picture) and the Blu of "A lonely place to die" (which I could't resist as it has dropped from 19.99 to 9.99 and now 5.99 in just two weeks).

A visit to the customs office to prove my age also resulted in me finally getting hold of my latest package from Play.com which contained "Visions of Ecstasy" (DVD) and "Night Porter" (BR).

The to watch pile has now exceeded 10 so I will have to hold back on any further purchases until I have watched a few.

When I finally decided to pick up Lady Snowblood it was out of stock on Amazon and Play and marketplace sellers have already put a higher price tag on the steelbook. Guess who was my savior? HMV £18 in-store!

Wait I didn't tell you all the best thing about all this swag! The Demons Steelbook was only £12.99 on Play.com! I think Zavvi are still selling them cheap through Play.com now!

Plus the Arrow DVDs cost £20 for all 5 on the official Arrow website.

 Now I can't decide what to watch when it all arrives! Lady Snowblood was great on Bluray!

Nice one! One of my favourite film posters of recent years. The film's pretty decent too - surprised it still hasn't seen a release over here . . .

It appears to be English friendly (English subs) - at least I hope so or I am stuffed.

It is. I own it  . . .
