Funnily enough I managed to get hold of a copy of the ABC Mad Foxes DVD a few days ago as well. I'd been after that one for ages.

And I remember picking up that Blind Dead double set from Ebay maybe a decade ago, or something like that.

Put this on this afternoon, just for the first 10 mins or so - if you're a fan of this film, I don't think you'll be disapointed. PQ looked great, to me - very natural. I'm sure the Second Sight release will be the same. Happy days for Cronenberg fans, with this disc, and 'The Brood' coming soon.

How much was it?

I'm getting a tad impatient with second sight and their Stuart Gordon/Brian Yunza films, and now the cronenberg films, so if they're cheap. I'll pick up scanners and the brood, and then maybe sell them off when the second sight ones materialise

Cheers mate.

I have a feeling itll be in the next 2 for 30. Umbrella titles have a habit of ending up there.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 6th February 2013 10:20 AM

I traded in my old DVD set of Firefly (worth the same as the Blu-ray set) at CeX for Brokeback Mountain and Land of the Dead for £1 – two films I've been meaning to upgrade to BD for quite a while.

antmumford 6th February 2013 12:09 PM

Some naughty person had stuck a Blue X sticker on Berberian Sound Studio in HMV yet didn't buy it so I just nabbed it for £8.99. I thought it was too good a price but the employee sold it to me anyways, he didn't care.

At this point it probably isn't worth them arguing! I bought some wrestling blu-rays the other day, one didn't have a blue cross on it but the cashier put them all through as 25% off. He noticed the mistake, and just shrugged to himself and got the discs.

It's pretty sad when people feel that way about their jobs and employer, but it's perfectly understandable. As far as the number of units being sold goes, the administrators are probably just looking at the bottom line rather than what's going on in each store and with each transaction.

Either way, the consumer seems to be the one winning for the time being anyway.

Pre-ordered mine when they were announced and they still haven't turned up!

I'll wait until the end of the week before I e-mail them but hopefully my order didn't get "lost" when they messed everything up at Xmas.

Newest arrival. The deliveries are really slow this month. I usually get a bundle per day. I've got loads of stuff still to be delivered, but they're only come one a day.

I have noticed this as well

I recently got some things ('blue cross' and second hand) which, by my mathematical equation came to £20, but I was charged £8.99

Not only that, but the sales assistant took me out the back, and she gave me oral!!!!!!!!

Anyway...today's purchase

CEX

'Torchwood: Children of Earth' - £4:00. Lawks a lordy, tho. When am I going to be able to watch it?

Mumbly ol' Jeff Bridges mumbling his way to an Oscar. Crazy Heart is pretty good.

My copy of TERROR VISION/THE VIDEO DEAD arrived today.
Jesus, for two low budget eighties horror flicks, the extras are incredible.

For overseas Blu Rays,Scream Factory really are the label to beat!

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 6th February 2013 04:28 PM

Both Bava titles arrived today as well, along with Taken 2 steelbook.

Both Bava packages are very nice!
Let's hope the films are the same!

Who would give that to a charity shop already? Whoever it was clearly doesn't like black-and-white films!
