Forgot to mention, in case anyone is interested, when ordering from outside of Australia Madman deducts the VAT, that makes it 22.68+9.50 AUD.

I ordered the Showa Vol 2 from Importcds, as it was only ~12USD plus shipping, which is the price for their Madman single disc releases, the day after it went up to +35USD, it's been on back-order for more than a week now, hope it wasn't a mistake and they cancel it after the price goes up on Madman...

It's just popped up on my Twitter that the only stores selling it today are HMV and WHSmiths. Sainsbury's and Asda are selling it from Monday.

You think they might've put that on the film's website before today

I'm off to London Town for the day tomorrow, so I'll get it then . . .

Smiths!? It's not the bloody 90s. Most of their stores have pretty much stopped selling DVDs.
I'll probably just watch it for free on the telly. From some of the reviews it sounds interesting, but not something I'm going to want to watch multiple times.

Darkplace is ruddy great.

Delirium 5th July 2013 02:22 PM

I picked up A Field in England today. A brave move considering its on Film4 tonight, but I have loved everything Wheatley's done so far and a trippy, English horror infused experimental film sounds right up my street.

Yes, it's really quite brilliant. Very, very funny with a really good cast. A good choice, sir!

It's a brilliant TV show, and one which I should watch more often than I currently do – maybe starting tonight.

From what someone was saying on the shoutbox, they saw copies in HMV earlier in the week - although yes, its official release is today. Maybe HMV had pre-release rights of some sort?

trebor8273 5th July 2013 02:43 PM

Just ordered this which shall be my first order from amazon.com

Amazon.com: Scream Factory All Night Horror Marathon, Vol. 2 (Cellar Dweller, Catacombs, The Dungeonmaster & Contamination 7): Jeffrey Combs, Timothy Van Patten, John Carl Buechler: Movies & TV

I'm sure you'll enjoy it, I did (but don't tell everybody else, shhh) and everyone that has seen it so far seems to like it. Don't eat hot dogs while watching it though, especially ginger furry hot dogs.

troggi 5th July 2013 03:06 PM

I thought "Whilst I'm going to *Room 237* I'll have a look in the charity shops in Southsea". I found near enough rock-all but was determined to take something home to fill an hour or two! I ended up buying:
"Pin" for £1.99
http://cdnd.imhonet.ru/element/180x2...2d546da58e.jpg
and "Trick or Treat" for 99p
http://c3.cduniverse.ws/resized/144x...35/5853135.jpg

I know, I know!
BTW...*Room 237* is my favourite comic shop!

If you like the Land of OZ- you'll love "No Place Like Home"
https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...65728150_n.jpg
But watch out for those flying monkeys they are way worse than they were when Judy Garland saw them!

troggi 5th July 2013 06:53 PM

Emergency trip to Asda, no porridge for morning
So I bought some porridge and Refreshers lollies... and some coffee

Oh yeah! a big bag of chilli Doritos

some orange juice and lemon squash...

and "The Lodge" for £3 (just hope it doesn't have any ginger willies in it )

First two great, last one I was told if you have nothing good to say, say nothing. So I'm saying nothing.

re.form 5th July 2013 08:58 PM

Ha! I have low expectations about Revelations, but I really liked the first movie. Well, as far as Hollywood adaptions of Japanese video games go, anyway. I thought it had some cool images.

I've read the bad reviews Revelations got, but sometimes I really like movies that the rest of the world hates. We'll see...

Jinx_Barkman 5th July 2013 09:28 PM

Got all of these on the cheap.

Went to town to buy "ABC's of Death", which has been retitled "22 Ways to Die" here in Germany. I guess it has been cut :(. Rather than come away empty handed I bought Stallone's arm wrestling film "Over the Top" which I haven't seen since its first release on VHS when I was a youngster.

I wondered about that having seen the German title. I saw the US uncut version recently, and while most of it is as silly as you expect, a couple of them are quite nasty. Kinda defeats the purpose of the ABCs if a couple of letters have been snipped.

If I had to hazard a guess, I would say "L for Libido" is one of the ones missing.

MALONE (1987) Ascot Elite (R2 Germany) Dvd but also out on Blu Ray.Picture looks great & nice original poster art on back of reversable sleeve.

Demoncrat 6th July 2013 09:43 AM

Dark Night Of The Scarecrow (VCI dvd). Just came as I was heading out.

Creepy film. Wish I'd gotten one of those German Hardboxes:cry: but this will suffice.

Tender & Perverse Emanuelle from Scyther. So that's the weekend sorted.

May dig out The Fountain as well....

SCM 6th July 2013 09:57 AM

My copy of the Exterminator came through

Yeah... (looks off to the left and begins shuffling off camera) "what are we going to do now?"
Now where's the woman with a big bust... um, sorry had a flashback.

The cover for the When a Stranger Calls DVD annoys me because the photo on the phone is upside down.

The phone was upside down when the photo was taken. That's what they'd say. :D

Since payday was last weekend, I splashed out on this months films (well, most of them. Still a few later in the month). God knows what I'm going to do if I ever get a real life and have more important things to spend my money on!

I think you'll love the Shout Factory movie marathon Stephen.

I've watched two so far - Cyclone and Eye of the Tiger and individually they are worth the price of the set.

Yeah, looking forward to Eye Of The Tiger. I have the cheap UK dvd of Cyclone and I was really surprised to see this one is widescreen. So I can't wait to see it again either.
