Ah yeah, I just took the slick (I think that's the technical term), with the artwork, out of the amaray.

That's the photo that left me a bit confused. I looked the other ones but forgot to edit my original post.

Do you ever sit at your computer late at night and think, "Hell yeah, that's a good idea!" and buy stuff that in the morning you think, "Why?"

Well last night I was looking at my American Ninja set and thought I need more Ninja films on Blu ray. I have Enter the Ninja and Revenge of the Ninja on order from Diabolik and ended up buying Ninja, (Scott Adkins), Ninja 2 Shadow of a Tear, Ninja Assassin, Ninja Kommando aka Ninja in the Dragons Den and Ninja 3 - The Domination.

Now that I'm sorta committed do you guys have any other Blu ray Ninja suggestions?

A couple more Doplh blu's from Germany for my collection. Now, call me crazy, but I already have Command Performance on blu-ray, but I didn't like the artwork  For some unknown reason, a few of Dolph's releases in the US use images on the covers of him from the previous movie he made, so Command Performace has a pic of him from Direct Contact (wearing a parker that features nowhere in CP), and the Direct Contact artwork has a pic of him from The Mechanik (The Russian Specialist). I'm very picky! :D

Crazy picky man!

But I know exactly what you mean!! :handshake:

J Harker 9th May 2015 10:29 AM

Here's a question for you Stephen. Seeing as your probably the man for this. The reverse art of Zavvis Steelbook for Commando the directors cut. What or where is it from cos it doesn't look like Commando. Looks like a photoshoped shot from the opening of Predator to me.

Don't know if they're on blu, but I recommend both Ninja Terminator and The Ninja Squad (Godfrey Ho, dir) as they are insane hoots.

I am indeed the man for this job. I believe it's a pic of Arnie from Raw Deal, and they've photoshopped a big gun into his hand. Although he does wear a vest at the beginning of Commando. Whatever it is, is peculiar.

J Harker 9th May 2015 10:59 AM

Its the cigar. I don't recall him smoking a cigar at any point in Commando. And the haircut is wrong for Raw Deal.

Couple of parts in Raw Deal where he doesn't have the hair slicked back. I'm inclined to think if might be a behind the scenes photo from either that or Commando.

Thank God I still have the US blu of Command Performance. Broke my rule of not checking out German releases before buying. Cut by 2 1/2 minutes lol.

I think Command Performance is probably the only relatively recent Dolph film I've seen. Was ok but not a patch on his early films. I'll have to catch up a bit, was a time he was one of my favourite action stars.

I may have done something similar and ordered a small number of Godfrey Ho ninja films...

A couple of blus/DVDs picked up, among other things, after a long but exciting day in Manchester.

Indeed! Imo, great original poster artwork, and a hell of a lot better than every other dvd/BD cover it's had (others may disagree), especially the last one below.

I'm just surprised they got it on there without any cropping!

Blu-ray case dimensions haven't always been kind to original poster designs.

I enjoyed 'Scarce' but couldn't get past the first 15 minutes of Theatre of Fear', a complete mess of a film. Heard pretty good things about 'Savaged' so would be interested to see how you get on with this one...

Great shop.

I used to like the lucky dip bags many years ago.

I'd noticed Spoorloos in there at Christmas but didn't buy because of the price, since I have been desperate to watch again. Fortunately they still had it and it was cheaper than before. Of course I'm now convinced there will be a fantastic new release on the way.

Yeah, they cropped the shit out of the Robocop cover, so I expected to see most of Swayze's legs cropped off. Luckily, they just seem to have extended the sides a little.

There is I'm afraid - Criterion released it on Blu last year.

A great pick-up all the same though.

Oh no, I was aware of that, expensive and region locked? My Sony blu multi region dvd is fantastic at upscaling, my u.s. blu player is a bit patchy.

Is the artwork on the Blu Ray at the bottom the same as the image you posted. I was looking at that actual Blu Ray tonight at my mates house but his was still sealed and it was a card in front of the actual cover with that artwork on it. Its like the card that was in front of the Pet Cemetery Blu Ray i got with just the picture of the cat but under it had different artwork.

Was going to mention the Criterion release myself. Its pointless unless you can play region locked discs. However it seems to be a great candidate for Arrow academy if they could get the rights. Doubt it'll be any time soon.

Plus that DVD has great liner notes from Kim Newman.

Yeah, had a look on the internet and it's this artwork underneath the card.

I thought the Pet Sematary blu had the same art in the case underneath? Or was there another release?
