Only just found out (from Phurious) that Attack the Block is available in a super slick glow-in-the-dark steelbook exclusive to play.com. So I pounced on that, will have to flog the standard copy that arrived today . . .

Dribs and drabs over the last week or so. Making a serious effort to curb my spending as I need to save to pay for driving lessons and our family's impending move to France next summer.

Lone Wolf & Cub was a steal £4 in a Cancer research shop.

Deneuve boxset, well she's the ultimate ice queen and it's good practice for my French

Kill List - nuff said.

The Party's Over only two off having all the Flipside releases now, although there's 2 or 3 coming out in Jan and Feb I think

Eyes Without A Face - Criterion edition - bye bye region 2 disc. A bona fide masterpiece make no mistake.

The Castle one of the few Haneke movies that I haven't seen. Haneke does Kafka - can only be a laughfest

Damn! Which films do you get in that? I was only aware of the Eureka boxset (still on my 'to buy' list) . . .

The Eureka Boxset is the one to get picture quality wise. There's just no comparison.

The latest issue of Sight & Sound reminded me I still don't own Guy Maddin's magnificent My Winnipeg (amusingly referenced in the review of Man on a Ledge). Luckily it's going pretty cheap now so I grabbed that. Gonna have a small pile of dvds arriving at my work address when I get back next week . . .

There's a French bd of Eyes without a Face but maybe you need to practice your French some more as it's not English friendly...
