Got Hell Comes To Frogtown, Hellgate, Lifeforce and Incredible Melting Man blu' all £6 from Fopp. They have loads of arrow blus at £6 and dvds at £5. Also the first Hellraiser is now out on its own.
A nice grab from BHF charity shop, 26 episode anime plus bonus movie... £2.99
(tho have no idea what the title 'Escaflowne' refers to)
(the 4:3 P.Q. is very good IMHO, nice and colourful dating from 1996 nowhere near as bad as reviews suggest)

I always thought Escaflowne had a good rep. I've had the DVD set for years. It started out as a girls romance series. There is a sub genre of anime called 'harem' where the character has a number of love interests and can't decide. Normally they have a male protagonist, check out a series called Love hina for the perfect example of this. Escaflowne is at least partly a 'reverse harem' with a female protagonist in a fantasy setting. It's surprisingly dark and has an incredible soundtrack courtesy of Yoko Kanno. The movie contains even darker material than the show with a suggestion that the lead character Hitomi entered the other world after attempting suicide.
Ordered a couple of blu-rays for my Dario Argento bd/dvd collection. 1997's Wax Mask (which is American but apparently region friendly) and 1978's Zombi - Argento cut (Spanish but supposedly a pressed disc). Will be good fun to watch both films.
