Another upcoming release that I'm looking forward to is BFI's Blu of The Innocents, which is due out on 23 August.

This is one of those rare occasions where I actually haven't succumbed to the lure of extra packaging -- the only other was where I desperately wanted the Phantasm Sphere but I had a look around my room and, when I realised there was absolutely no way I could put it even with some judicious moving, ended up buying the Digipack.

I also bought the Phantasm digipack as opposed to the sphere mainly because I managed to get it for £9.99, plus also due to lack of space. Also, whilst I am a fan of the Phantasm films they're not rated amongst my all-time favourites so the Sphere wasn't an essential purchase for me.

That's one of the many releases that make me wish I had Region Free capability.
The Alien release, too. Not that it's definitely region locked, but it's not known if it's region free, yet. DAmn thing's about half the price of the US version.

I'm another that went for the Phantasm digipack. 8.99 on Play

Some of BFI's Blu releases have been region free, but I'm not sure whether The Innocents will be locked. Hopefully not.

That's another of my pre-orders. I hope it's up to the standards I expect from the BFI as it is such a great movie and a terrific BD would be a fitting testament to Deborah Kerr.

Unfortunately someone confirmed The Innocents is Region locked on blu-ray.com a while back. It's a Fox title in the US and BFI only have the UK rights. Puts me out of the running for that for the time being as well.

That is a shame, but thanks for the information blob.

I also know their disc of Salo is locked, and I'm guessing Criterion will do the honours of releasing that in the US on Blu.

Eureka! is a company that has my full attention at the moment too, what with Blus of Fritz Lang's M, Fantastic Planet and now Vengeance is Mine, to name a few, I'm really looking forward to seeing what comes next, and I'm hoping for Blus of Hausu, Kwaidan, Onibaba, and Funeral Parade of Roses for starters.

Another BFI release I'm looking forward to as well is A Zed & Two Noughts. Eureka! are doing a really great job even though I've yet to buy one. Fantastic Planet and Vengeance Is Mine are on my list as well as Paranoiac. I still haven't decided whether to go with them or Criterion for M. Hopefully when I get round to it I'll have a Region B player too.

Way too much to buy at the moment!

I forgot about Paranoiac - another essential release.

What with all these and all of Arrow's upcoming Blus, my pitifully small Blu collection might not be so pitiful by the end of the year.
