Quote:
Lionsgate found the cut gore scenes from My Bloody Valentine after Paramount said they didn't exist anymore. Paramount ordered 30 minutes cut from Event Horizon, and this was recently found on tape. Let's hope Warner got this title. Also the uncut double spearing from Part 2 is known to exist, but the creators went over it again, and said it was too horrifying to release.

Not quite. Paramount knew full well that the producer held most of the cut footage and he offered it to them to be reinstated in their DVD release. Paramount declined. So they knew full well the footage existed. Why did Paramount reject the footage? Well, get this, they had a policy never to release a film unrated. Nuts, eh? This is why they've 'lost' the F13 footage. They haven't really, they just don't like releasing films unrated. I've seen numerous cut footage sequences on the 'net, so it's out there somewhere.

Looks like the 600 titles Warner will be distributing are for on-demand, only 100 Paramount tiltles for BD (and I'm assuming, dvd).

Is the deal only in the US? Or other regions too? I think they did a solid job with the A Nightmare On Elm Street Collection here. It would be nice to get a set with the New Line stuff in too (New Line were a subsidary of Warner and are now absorbed into Warner I believe?).

Apparently it's just a US deal.

Just a US deal is ok too, cause both companies tend to release region free product anyway!Am I wrong?Or could that change?

Both Warner and Paramount seem to favour making their releases region-free, so I'd imagine these will be the same. I guess where it might get tricky is if Paramount want to realease these titles themselves in other territories, then they may stipulate region-coding requirements. Hard to say at this point in time, but I remain hopeful.
