It has been fantastic, hasn't missed a beat so far, but load times are pretty slow and players seem to have a use by date, and firmware updates are a thing of the past for a unit that old. If I buy the Soniq, then my Pioneer crashes, I don't think I'll be happy with the Soniq as my only player. The only other option is to buy a modded mid-range player - Oppo etc. More $, but probably well spent?
Would be interested to know what other members have, and whether they're multiregion or not.
If you cant afford to get a Oppo then get this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-CODEFREE-...d_sim_sbs_ce_6

Already region free and not a bad player.

I think he would have to get a power point converter to use that in Australia though. Not sure how good those are with big things like that.

Thanks for that Nekro. But, as Fuzzymctiger says, I'd need a converter. Add the postage to Aus + conversion to $, and your at about the price of an Oppo or other major brand (Sony, Pana) modded player.

Can you no longer get the Toshiba range over there?

It's thanks to the Aussie firmware that we in the UK get to region free our BDX1200 & 3200 (3D). It is model specific though. Must be the 1200 or 3200.

Not those models, anymore. The models that can't be made region free are everywhere though!

Scream Factory are releasing Swamp Thing!

This will not be a collectors edition, so no new artwork, but it will have extras, to make up for the fact that due to legal reasons, they could only use the shorter 91? Min cut.

I'll give it a miss, and stick with the uncut German dvd.
