A rare 'blockbuster' night - X-Men and X-Men 2. I'm sure it's been mentioned many times but isn't it weird how often the second times the charm in these genre movies? Terminator, Spiderman, both Batman franchises, Hellboy - all improved imo (lets forget Robocop and Iron Man!). X-Men 2 is no different, it's nearly the perfect superhero movie, for me let down by the last 20 minutes where the special effects just can't deliver for Jean Grey's sacrafice scene - it looks like she's standing in a video game, there's no real physical danger communicated and it just falls kinda flat. Both these movies really excel in the small touches - the Iceman chilling Wolverines beer for example and of course Ian McKellan who is simply magnificent.

Utter bollocks.
King Of New York? TBL? The Funeral?

I've only seen those two of his movies so apologies if it was a bit of a sweeping statement

Still hated both of them though!

Watched Murder Set Pieces last night, what an utter piece of shit of a film, why on earth Tony Todd, Gunnar Hansen and Ed Neal signed up for this is beyond me. The acting wasn't even up to the same standard as everyone's favourite Italian cheapies like Anthropophagus etc., the soundtrack was like something I could do using the most basic software and the plot was complete bollocks. I think the only reason it's banned over here is to save us from an hour and half of boredom. I've got Grotesqueto watch tonight, hopefully this will be a bit more accomplished in the film making department.

Don't forget Ms. 45 - a masterpiece, and one of the best thrillers of all time!

I liked MSP despite its negative reviews, but the only real reason esp. Todd and Hansen appear in films like this is because for years they are now in the straight to dvd market and therefore will act in loads of films which are on offer to them
GROTESQUE is anotherJap torture porn film as you probably know, shot on hi-def and is imo a very good horror

I've got the uncut French dvd, don't know of any other uncut releases around at the moment of this revenge film
imo this and Bad Lieutenant are Ferarra's best films
