It may be fifteen years too late and an American production rather than filmed at Cinecitta but Scissors is a giallo in all but name.

A sexually repressed young woman, a fine early performance from Sharon Stone by the way. A horrific attack by an unknown assailant in an appartment block lift. A pair of decidedly odd twins, played by Steve Railsback. Scissors found in bodies, a creepy collection of porcelain dolls, and the womans near breakdown as she ends up trapped in a furnished but abandoned appartment.

A fine mind bending thriller that deserves an audience especially as you can still pick up the decent widescreen dvd for pence.

I keep meaning to see this as other reviews refer to the Giallo comparisons. Your words have now made me look online for a good cheap copy!

What do people think of this, it sounds interesting but I just can't see it being very good with the number of stories and short running time for so many stories.

To be honest, I hated Battleship. It felt like something Michael Bay made on an off day!

Oz: The Great and Powerful is visually spectacular and really well acted, but the pacing is poor and it drags at times. It's worth a watch, but don't go in expecting a masterpiece.

Last year I watched 1132 movies, but I haven't set that as a target to beat as I'm doing a college course which, if successful, will lead to another in September and I really want to do more than watch films every evening!

Haven't you ever tried this new social phenomenon called 'socialising' and tried to get a girlfriend? That's what I'm aiming for, which may mean films have to take a back seat.
