"Project A Part II"

As sequels go it was passable, as a Jackie Chan film it was a little dull but with some good set pieces. 8/10 (about half of what I rate the first movie).

On the way, I'm halfway through "Moon of the Wolf" more soon.

So 'Project A' is rated 16/10?

I see a slight flaw with your marking system!

No flaws, no laws. I take 10 as a bog standard movie, a yardstick, if you will. So something like "Signs" or "I Know What You Did Last Summer" would, in my rating system be a 10 because they are decent but not brilliant films. With a yardstick and patience you can measure many miles so with my "yardstick" I can go up; "Project A" is at least 16-18 out of 10, and down; the so-called SCI-FI CLASSIC that I have just watched, "The She Gods of Shark Reef", may go below zero, -3/10! This is because it is so many times below the standard film that it may have well been a slide-show of someone's holiday snaps.

Not got long so.............

Phantasm (realised I hadn't listened to the comm!! very good)
Frankenstein's Bloody Horror...will be rewatching this shortly...total hoot imo.
Carnage (Bava). Yearly viewing etc, still one of the greatest endings in cinema imo.
La Maldicion de Frankenstein. What a loony film, Vernon's performance being the zenith of this "unfetterdness" a-hem.
Altered. meh.
Santa Sangre. Mate acquired the AB 2discer!! Very peeved, so borrowed it post haste. FILM OR WHAT. Nae since the Palace (?) vhs etc, roll on this new one Al!!

There's more. Freeview went kaput so caught up with a few things, revisited a few things. As you'll see.......

"Moon of the Wolf" and "The She Gods of Shark Reef"

"Moon of the Wolf" 1972 TV movie
This was quite a relief after the first two offerings in the "50 SCI-FI CLASSICS" collection. A well acted TV film with David Jansen as the Sheriff on the trail of a werewolf. Dated, but aren't we all, and predictable but nicely paced. A reasonable 9/10 for David Jansen's and Barbara Rush's flirting and Bradford Dillman's fit on the porch!

Roger Corman's "The She Gods of Shark Reef" 1958
Oh dearie, dearie me! I had to watch this in two halves because I thought I was getting sea sick! Not good! Terrible grainy transfer from VHS, bad acting, terrible dialogue. It's almost like it was made as the epitome of 1950s "B Movies", throw away stuff to get money out of teenagers at drive-ins. An unremarkable -3/10 because the only things that acted well were the sharks!

That's 4 down 46 to go.

That's a very peculiar system!
