Mine didn't. I was allowed The Goonies. The rest were a no go. My dad went nuts when i was watching First Blood and the police are abusing Rambo.

It is pretty bad but I quite enjoyed it - there are some nice kills and the pace is such that it never gets boring. It could (and did) equally work as a comedy though.

I used to watch R movies as a kid too.

My parents regretted it with Fright Night and the original Elm Street, they both scared the absolute shit out of me!

Vera Cruz (1954)

During the Mexican Rebellion of 1866, an unsavory group of American riders are hired by the forces of Emperor Maximilian to escort a countess to Vera Cruz.

Proof if any were needed that a couple of western icons in Gary Cooper and Burt Lancaster, a fistful of cool co-stars in Ernest Borgnine, Charles Bronson, Jack Elam and George Macready and a cast of seemingly thousands, together with vast Mexican panoramas, a fun opening and spectacular battle at the end does not a good film make without a decent story.

A spectacular missed opportunity.
