Swamp Thing is a decent comic book romp.
Now all 'High Priority' at Lovefilm – I wonder if they will send any tomorrow when the ones I returned yesterday morning arrive.

I really enjoyed that. I've only seen it the one time. Must give it another viewing next year.

Flawed but, as always with William Friedkin, interesting and well worth watching.

The Fishmen and Their Queen (1995)

Totally dreadful, i can't really say follow up because it isn't, made for tv mess with minor links to Island of the Fishmen.

Sergio Martino should be ashamed of this. Seemingly a kids film that plays like a pastiche of any number of Italian post-apocalyptic movies crossed with The Goonies. I loathe The Goonies but would prefer to watch it on repeat play for 24 hours than suffer this rubbish again.

I'm not going to say what it's plot is because i lost the plot through boredom but not as much as Martino did, in fact i'm not even sure why this was made. The film is essentially made up of re-edited scenes from 2019 After the Fall of New York (1983) and the original Island of the Fishmen, in fact every sequence of the fishmen is taken from the previous film.

I can't think of anything good to say about The Fishmen and their Queen. It's inept, childish, horrendously acted with even worse dubbing. In fact i'm going to say this is the worst film i've seen this year because even the cheapest of z-grade, supermarket shelf fillers, shaky cam horror movies have more merit than this.

I know they say "don't judge a book by it's cover" but surely the cover of that tipped you off a little bit?

I don't have the Mya release, i have the German Marketing disc which is a double bill with Island of the Fishmen. The pic i posted was the only artwork i could find for the film.

That Mya cover i pictured is way better than what's on offer anyway.

And From Hell It Came

Watched that The Parallax View (!974, Alan J Pakula)
A rather paranoid little film about how powerful faceless elites control out lives. How unrealistic NOT. One of a slew of post Watergate films, this has Warren Beatty doing his WB act, but it doesn't detract from the overall story this time imho. Unlike Shampoo cough. If you like to shout at the TV, high recommendation.

Also watched that Sausage Party...wooh mama. Whilst hoping for Frozen style overkill with the lead song maybe wishful thinking, this is absolutely guaranteed to "offend". Especially the end sequence cough.

Aye, I'm sure I did mention this. But to reiterate, tis like a new film that I watched, so much clarity and detail in previously grubby looking scenes. A revelation and the epitome of this that there remastering imho!!
