I think j horrors are great because they use basics in how horrors should be ,
No huge budget, big stars, buckets of blood , etc etc more tension atmosphere storyline etc how horrors should be made ..

They reached a saturation point though, after which the ideas thinned out a bit and the quality declined also. Many people think that Ju-On: The Grudge (2002) is the last truly great J-Horror.

I think can happen with any genre where a large number of thematically or stylistically similar films are released in a relatively short period of time. It happened with the everything from cannibal movies to "J-horrors" to meta-slashers and 'torture porn'. After a while, whether it's because filmmakers run out of ideas or not, audiences will lose interest and want something new.

I thought after Ju-on the grudge they declinde in horrors after viewing few other Japanese Horrors I was enjoying them but then Ju-On came back but just not the same

Although the general quality deteriorated this century, I really like a lot of other horror films from around Asia from around that time such as A Tale of Two Sisters (2003, Shutter (2004), Dark Water (2002), The Eye (2002), One Missed Call (2003) and R-Point (2004).

One missed call seen both versions and wasn't keen, Shutter, The Eye and Dark water were creepy and Into The Mirror was good, The Americans remade them just wasn't the same

I thought Into the Mirror was really good and keep meaning to upgrade the cheap R3 disc I have. Mirrors was extremely disappointing and I haven't seen it since reviewing the BD on release!

The American Version of Mirrors 2 is a good remake of Into The Mirrors follows the same sort of plot.
