Watching Amityville Dollhouse, so very bad! A shames as I remember enjoying it in my youth. Not much spookieness, just lots of sex, and some guy getting a wasp in his ear so far....and only 30 mins to go!
Watching Silent Night Deadly Night next, at least I know that's fun!

Iron Man (2008)

The first MCU film is one of the best that easily takes a place in my top ten, and is one of the finest filmed superhero origin stories. It’s a shame the two Iron Man sequels were so disappointing.

**** out of *****

Lately weve been watching films that Sam has not seen or heard of,
Yesterday we had a child's play night and watched the first 3 .
She had never heard of Dario Argento before she met me , so we watched Suspiria few week back she enjoyed the film so much she seen it again since , wants a poster and has said its now in her top 3 films of all time.

The cloverfield paradox

Previously titled The God Particle before being altered to fit the Cloverfield franchise. This one seemed to appear out of nowhere on Netflix. It's set in a near future where energy resources are running low and the world is on the brink of war. A team aboard a space are experimenting with a particle accelerator that might provide unlimited clean energy for humanity or tear a hole in reality. I think you can guess what happens next.
It's an odd one. The space station set appears quite high budget yet everything else about the film feels cheap. Its got a Netflix movie feel to it visually and if you removed the Cloverfield name it would feel very much like it was made to be direct to home video. Some speculation has suggested it got dumped on the platform after it was realised the film wasn't especially great but I have my doubts. The fact is its definitely the weakest of the three cloverfield films. I know the first one has its detractors but I thought it was a solid monster flick and way better than any of the American made Godzilla films. 10 Cloverfield lane actually made my film of the year list that year as a taught thriller with a limited cast and one location. This one is just....ok I guess. Its like an episode of Star Trek or Black Mirror. As a standalone film it would have been fine. However thats all it really is. Fine. If you have Netflix and time to kill its probably worth a watch but the overall experience for me was underwhelming.

Lol! You're lucky, struggling to get my wife to enjoy anything that doesn't have that "tween horror" feel to it (buffy, erm....maze runner, resident evil franchise). Have shown her loads of stuff since we met & she just doesn't like Argento, Fulci, etc. She just compares it all (the dubbing, the sfx etc) to today's crap, so very tough sell. Furthest she'll go back is the 80's with Gremlins, The Thing etc.

I have had a few breakthroughs though, she loved Clockwork Orange, Troll Hunter & amazingly Texas Chainsaw 2! So I'll keep trying, we're currently on xmas horror so might get a few good ones out of this list! We have the following lined up:

Silent Night Deadly Night 1&2
Don't Open Till Christmas
Gremlins
Rare Exports
Christmas Evil

Have already watched:
A Christmas Horror Story (great, way better than it should have been) 4/5
Krampus (sub-Gremlins, still good) 3/5
Silent Night (remake w/Malcom McDowell) ok but slow 2/5

Any other suggestions welcome!

The House in Marsh Road
A wife and her drunk writer husband. Move to a house. The husband hates it and is offered 6 grand for it. The wife refuses. Oh yeah, there's a poltergeist in the house.
It got described as horror on talkingpictures, but it's more like a drama about a relationship than anything else. Despite this it paces well and is worth checking out.
7/10

Aw bless, hopefully you get there in the end .
It can be hard work in relationship if you both have different interest eg one likes all sports and other doesn't.
When first meet someone new when they say things you think part of it is to impress you or pretend to fit in with you , if you get what I mean .
So when Sam said she likes gory horrors she didn't come across as type who like horrors and thought she was just saying it because I like horrors , turns out she actually does
But she also does like Buffy etc where as I don't
Tbh she interested in seing more of the stuff I've got that she doesn't know , so technically I'm onto a win win situation here

Wasn't sure where to put this ,

https://www.thesun.co.uk/money/55144...se-22-cinemas/

Vue slash their prices to £4.99 per film at 22 cinemas across the UK - is your local on the list?
It applies to all 2D films, every day

You'll no longer be bankrupt after one trip to the cinema
While there's not much we enjoy more than staring at a big screen in a comfy chair for hours and classing it as socialising, heading to the cinema can often set you back a small fortune - and that's before you've even bought any popcorn.

So Vue cinemas are slashing the stigma that going to the cinema is expensive by cutting all its prices to under a fiver.

Thanks to their new so-called 'Every Film Every Day offer', tickets to Vue cinemas across the UK will cost £4.99 per showing - a price tag that will apply to all 2D films, no matter how new they are, every day of the week.

However, it will only apply to 22 Vue cinemas around the country, including

Aberdeen
Barrow
Bury
Cheshire Oaks
Cleveleys
Darlington
Farnborough
Gateshead
Halifax
Hamilton
Hartlepool
Hull
Lancaster
Livingston
Manchester Lowry
Manchester Printworks
Norwich
Merthyr
Romford
Southport
Swansea
Thanet
York
However, if you do fancy donning some funny glasses and seeing a 3D film instead, additional charges may apply.

The same goes for IMAX films and VIP seating upgrades, plus a 75p booking fee for online and telephone bookings.

The Vue discounts follow in the wake of membership card schemes run by rival cinema chains Cineworld and Odeon which allow customers unlimited visits for a monthly fee of almost £18 - potentially a better option for anyone that doesn't fancy trekking all the way to Romford to watch a film.

While Cineworld's All-You-Can-Eat cinema pass will set you back £17.90 , Odeon offer limitless for £17.99 each month.
