The Curse Of La Llorona. 2019.

In 1973 a social worker ignores the pleas of a single mother who may be harming her children while she is protecting them from a vengeful spirit and unwittingly becomes a target of the spirit.

This is the second time I have watched this and still feel disappointed the second time round. Based on a folklore tale of "The Weeping Woman", the suspense is built up well but doesn't seem to pay off really well. The young child actors do a great job I can't deny that but this is something that has been done before and execute a lot better with a better ending.

Ready Or NOt. 2019.

A bride on her wedding night is initiated into her In-Laws by playing a game that takes sinister turn.

This film is one of the decent flicks that was released in 2019, the plot of it seems daft, battle royale in a big house, one against several family members, the first time I watched it I will admit it had me in stitches. The father /son chat saying he loves everyone equally then laughing about it shows a good bond and the member who can't shoot right then when she does she kills the wrong person. The acting in this decently done with plenty of blood shed.

Conan the Barbarian
One of the first tapes that was rented in our house was this 1981 classic. I watched this with my son last night and enjoyed it every bit as much as the first time. Truly one of the home video greats alongside Raiders, Escape from New York and the Thing in my view.

Did you watch the tape or a DVD/Blu?
I'd love to still have a video player and cassettes, but I'm also not willing to go down that rabbit hole!

I watched it on VHS. Most things I watch are DVD but I never got round to getting a modern version of Conan. The colour is a bit washed out but the sound quality is excellent considering it was reproduced in early 1983.

Fractured,

Not heard of this so thought I’d take a punt on it,

Boy I’m glad I did, it’s a very slow burner with minimal violence and gore but it was very well made, it’s done very well got suspense tension atmosphere it’s all there, first half hr is about a couple who away for few days and kept feeling someone was there, the 2nd half goes back then all the plot changes and explains everything and this is where the twist kicks in.

If you don’t mind slow burners highly recommended.

A heavy metal band comes and plays in a small town , some of the residents are worried this will corrupted there kids, for once the religious small down but jobs are right, as the band are a group of demons whom corrupted the children to too turn on and kill the adults, but there is a ray of hope in the form of a English teacher , whom looks like a knock of Tom Selleck.

It was all very tame and felt more like a tv movie, with the lack of violence, gore and the Pg13 nudity and intentionally funny monsters which would not of looked out of place on the Muppets .

Was going to watch this next, anyone seen it as not seen it before.

Edit

Tried Def by temptation but got bored so will see what this is like.

Saw Def By Temptation in the 90s not long after it came out and I don't think I made it all the way through, I thought Shudder would have avoided this film completely.

They should of, can't believe it's gotten 4 skulls out of 5, people do have shitty tastes.

Couldn't get into DNA either so started watching The Mandalorian again.
