Whiteout-More like Shiteout, not even the delightful Kate Beckinsale or the usually great Tom Skerrit could save it!

To save anyone wasting their time watching this I've added a link to the full synopsis from IMDb

I didn't think it was too bad, nothing special, but nowhere near as bad as you say.

I also remember it being an average piece of entertainment, which wasn't dire, but nothing particularly memorable either.

Whiteout was one of those phantom titles lovefilm sent me for no reason (I've also recieved Practical Magic and the remake of Arthur from them previously ). I watched it anyway, but remembered fastforwarding through a lot of it. As mentioned, painfully average . . .

I reviewed it before the DVD was released – it's one of the many reviews I haven't put on my website yet – and my final thoughts were:

"Whiteout has a great premise and a variety of characters to make things interesting right until the end. Dominic Sena does a decent job with the material and constructs some thoroughly involving and tense scenes but the pacing is inconsistent which affects the overall picture. It is an enjoyable and entertaining movie but isn’t as good as it perhaps should have been – worth a watch though."

I have heard some negative things about this film but i enjoyed it alot. For me it captured the feel and look of the 40s very well. On first view i can find many faults with it maybe a second viewing is needed but i dont think ill change my mind. Think ill get the Blu Ray soon.

Young Frankenstein (1981). Love that Brooks & co used the K Strickland designs in this. Sore with laughter.

Strickfaden's the name.

A brilliant film.

My favourite line: "...we still have nightmares from five times before."

Possibly my favourite of the Mel Brooks movies. Favourite line: "What great knockers!"
