What Films Have You Seen Recently?

I'd really like it if you let us know your favourite Bonds Mr B, especially after re watching them all in the correct order, no worries of course, but we all have our favourites, personally i was brought up on the Roger Moore films so they will always be my favourites, but a top five would be cool if you can manage it.
I prefer Dalton over the last two as well so i've basically thrown myself under the bus here.
I think of it the same way as Doctor Who, everybody's gonna have a favourite and most of the time it's probably what you grew up watching.

No worries there Nos42 I may do 5 or 10, I'm still in two minds about A view to a Kill not long watched that at my work so will post up about that later on when I been to my bed, we all have our favourites, only one I'm really not daft on is Quantom of Solace but maybe a third viewing will change my mind have a good y'all stay safe.

THE WARRIORS (1979) THEATRICAL VERSION

Excellent! Remember all the trouble this film caused when it came out?
A few years back we went to New York and took the subway down to Coney Island. Stood by the Wonder Wheel and had a ride on the Cyclone roller coaster. It's worth checking out behind the scenes trivia for this movie, about the real gangs involved and trouble while filming.

A View To a Kill. 1985.

After finding a microchip on a fellow agent, James Bond goes into pursuit of Max Zorin, a mad industrialist who plans to wipe out Silicon Valley in California and control the computer world.

Roger Moore's last outing as 007, I'm on two minds to either like or hate it, Christopher Walken plays Max Zorin brilliantly as the psychopathic ex K.G.B. agent who plans to have his own Monopoly with the use of a computer chip. He is aided by May Day played by Grace Jones who plays the tough henchwoman who can hold her own ground. Tanya Robert's plays the interest in James Bond as Stacey Sutton who's grandfather's oil company was taken over by Zorin.

What does throw me off with this is maybe Roger Moore should have stepped away from the role as he was a bit old but hats off to him for doing it again. The fight scene at the top of the Golden Gate Bridge seemed a bit too short and two guys in blimp trying to find a stick of dynamite was a bit of a laugh as it seems a bit comical, only thing that does save this from being a bit naff was Walken's performance and seeing Grace Jones parachute from the Eiffel Tower (IMHO) sorry to those who enjoy this one Again like the other Bond films the soundtrack is great to listein to

Dead Kids .(1981)
A strange tale of murdered teenagers, scientific experimentations and a rather fun fancy dress party, Where we get a particularly amusing dance sequence...Not only that but at one point the killer wears a Tor Johnson mask (something I have always wanted)...It may well be an oxymoron to say this is a pretty fun slasher movie,that has the right amounts of humour and just enough horror to keep the viewer guessing what's gonna happen next...Not since the disco segment in Prom Night has a slasher movie boogied...Dead Kids or Strange Behaviour depending on which version you watch,(obviously) is a quirky blend of 80s slasher movie,with some gruesome splatter ,and an almost 1950s science fiction subplot about a dead scientist who teaches from beyond the grave via pre recorded films ala *Dr. Brian O'Blivion in Cronenberg's Videodrome...
Michael Laughlin who would direct the equally quirky alien invasion flick Strange Invaders,gives us one of the oddest entries in the slasher genre...It stays pretty much in the bounds of slasher movie rules,teens,sex,drink,parties and a anonymous killer stalking a sleepy town but manages to be completely unique in its style,this maybe because Auckland New Zealand stands in as Midwest America,which helps with the oft kilter feel and approach...

The Playbirds (1978)
Christ only in England could a susposedly sexy comedy thriller about a murderer killing soft porn models,feel like your trapped in a launderette on a rainy Wednesday afternoon in a deserted seaside town about to be demolished...

The Living Daylights. 1987.

After a exercise test goes awry and a 00 agent killed, Bond is sent to help a K.G.B. General to escape he uncovers a plot to kill all enemy spies, with a Russian programme that was meant to be deactivated.

Timothy Dalton steps in as the fourth actor to play Bond, his first appearance as the character in Gibraltar after hearing a Agent scream and fall down the cliff is one of the best intros to the main guy. Jerome Krabbe plays defector General Georgi Koskov seems a bit nice to be the bad guy as he seems to hug everyone he sees but does enjoy the mind games he plays with others. Maryam D'Abo plays Kara the Cello player and Koskov's girlfriend who is drawn to a web of lies and Joe Don Baker as the military arms dealer Whitaker.

This one seemed to have a lot of negative reviews regarding how the plot was made and the bad guys were really not believable, as i tend to agree with Brad Whitaker character he seemed to be built up only for him to appear in small dabs then gets more screen time in the climatic end fight with Bond using his fancy weapons. Felix Leiter makes a appearance but in the form of John Terry who seems a bit too wooden. John-Rhys Davies makes a strong appearance as General Pushkin who is in the dark of everything but manages to pull off a good hoax with Bond. Aside from the negative points this one has always been a favourite of mine even watching Necros get the boot from the plane .

The evil genie is back time released after a botched robbery , once again be sets out to bring hell on earth, a young woman involved in the robbery and the world's most unlikely looking priest try to stop him, the genie spends most of the movie in a prison granting wishes with a huge grin on his face all the time which makes me think he enjoys dropping the soap. 6.5/10
