An important date in the calendar this year: 11 July.

Not only because of Arrow's releases of Obsession on Blu-ray and Slaughter High on DVD.

Don't forget to pick up this nice little old Horror gem: The Body Snatcher.

For those of you who don't already own the R1 Warner release, this is a cheap possibility of getting your hands on a real classic.

Greetings!

I bet it doesn't have the Warner dvd's commentary.

The Body Snatcher is one of my favourite films EVER.

Should Bizarre eye ever crack on with his brilliant Favourite Fims by Year thread, then 1945 is sorted without any thought whatsoever.

Is that a hint, mate?

Yes, the 1940s do need to be properly represented. Although, I must admit to my shame that my experience of horror from that particular decade is pretty lean.

Anyone know much about the new DVD's of Halloween II and III? £3.99 a pop on HMV.com, one from scanbox, the other from blue dolphin. Both have similar style artwork though, which is odd.

With the new Icon dvds coming of Hammer movies (ones that DD had released), the story is that they'll be authored better than the originals. I already have QUATERMASS XPERIMENT and the two-fer of CAPTAIN KRONOS/FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL, but I haven't noticed anything "wrong" with those.

Can anyone explain what this authoring issue is/was?
