Not a lot really. After all the first one parodied Scream which is one of the best horrors of the 90's.

They have to parody popular films or else their target audience won't know what the hell they are on about.

I do find it funny that you know which films the Scary Movies parody.

I have seen them many, many times because Chloe has children who used to love gross-out comedies, probably because I have always loathed them!
