Tales of Halloween

While not on the same level as trick r treat which I will be watching on Halloween it's still had more hits than misses. Think I enjoyed the ones about the alien, the kids getting revenge and the devil going trick a treating.

Halloween 3 .

Ok it's not connected to the other films and has nothing to do with Michael , but we do see the original be played on tv and the town showing. It's still one of my favourite and easily in the top four. The story is just so bonkers you have too love it.

Curse of Frankenstein

The first hammer Frankestein with Cushing taking the role of the demented and evil Frankenstein for the first time and a role he would make his own. Christopher Lee is the creature.

The thing.

After Halloween probably Carpenters best work for me. The arctic setting adds to the tensing and sense of loneliness of the film . Still has the best practical effects of any horror film all these years later. A classic and the rare remake that's better than the original .

Now watching

30 Days Of Unseen Horror

Day 28

orgy-of-the-dead-burlesque-posters.jpg

A couple head into the country in search of an old cemetery to get inspiration for a new horror novel the boyfriend is writing. Growing increasingly wary and frightened the woman convinces her man to turn and head back but the road is narrow and they end off going over the edge of a cliff. When they wake up they are captured and tied up in a cemetery and made watch some ladies dance for their master. Yeah that's right DANCE.

Christ on a bike what the hell was this. It's just a 90 minute lap dance in a graveyard that even includes the Mummy and the Wolf Man in attdenace. Boobs are always great but come one this was horrendous terrible acting stupid story just boring and pointless honestly.

Some great boobs but their dance moves need some more work .

La Monja. 2005.

Before The Conjuring Universe gave us The Nun. producers Julio Fernandez and Brian Yuzna gave us this tale of a ghostly nun, A abusive nun at a catholic school disappears and 18 years later begins to haunt and torment the daughter of a woman she abused. This is not perfect film, very low budget, the acting is not the best at times and nearly a predictable twist ending, it has some good cinematography, nice kills and a good background score.

Flight 7500. 2014.

A routine flight from Los Angeles Bound for Tokyo, when a passenger dies in mid flight some of the other passengers believe there is something supernatural on board with them.

When I read the plot to this, I thought it be on the same wave length as the 70s film Terror At 30,000 feet and almost feels it, one of the main characters is was a certain The Twilight Zone episode which made me give out a snigger. There is a hint of a Japanese folklore Shinigami which is never really been mentioned a lot in horror. The acting is decent and good dark atmosphere with a twist ending, think a second watch will happen with this.

DAMIEN OMEN II (1978)

Cracking sequel. Good shocks here, the stand out being the doctor cut in half in the lift. The death of Joan Hart by Raven attack is also a great scene.
Jerry Goldsmith provides another chilling score and I love the fact that those who find out who Damien is are really scared to death about it.

My autograph..

The Thing (1982)

John Carpenter's version of the classic novella Who Goes There? - first brought to the screen by Howard Hawks in 1951 - is a special effects masterclass from Rob Bottin sporting the most gruesome and grizzly effects ever captured on film.

The grue is aided no end by a brooding score from Carpenter and excellent performances by Kurt Russell, Keith David and all. It's a film that retains it's power to shock and remains an influential masterpiece of suspenseful horror cinema.
