Yeah I think that would be the safest thing to do.

I would imagine though that possession of this title after January next year would be a bit risky.

I was watching Bumfights: A Cause For Concern and Bumfights 2: Bumlife recently and actually thought they played out as more of a controversial version of Jackass than anything. Well at least the second volume did, the first was quite a mixed bag and though I can understand why it caused so much controversy I myself wasn't offended and enjoyed it in a weird kind of way. I think it was a bit of a one trick pony much in the way that Balls of Steel is and once the initial shock passes it becomes quite samey and that's the problem with volume 2, it was out of ideas and I think it lost its way a bit. That was a real slog but as I say the first one was quite entertaining.

Anyone else seen them? I understand there is a 3 and 4 available as well as some spin offs and different videos made by the producers.

I saw the first one and it definetly not what I expected.
Your right Cloud, it is more like a contraversal Jack Ass, with some guys eating glass etc.

BTW, its the same people who made Bum Fights who made the more disturbing Middle East Wackjobs film. ( Cant rember the full name. ) Now thats one sick film. The lingering scenes of executions , especially the burning alive, and the punishments of hands / feet being lopped off are pretty strong.
Vile little film.

I don't know how someone can not be abhorred by bumfights yet is abhorred by porn.

I watched Gutterballs last night, it was highly distasteful. It was needlessly profane, crewed and very, very silly. I hate every character in the film and really didn't care what happened to any of them. Quiet why Ryan Nicholson needed to have that fake little willy out every five minutes is also beyond me.

Trash in every aspect basically - not good Joe D'Amato style trash either.

Would never make it pass the BBFC either, which is probably a good thing.

Hal,

Can't remember which thread it was where we were discussing this film so I decided to put it here.

Yeah just watched Philosophy of a Knife.

It will be interesting to see what the BBFC would make of it but personally I think they wouldn't know what hit them. I mean seriously it would take them time to recover.

There are so many torture scenes in this film and they are some of the vilest ever filmed, and also very detailed as well as being very lengthy, where would the BBFC begin? They would probably have to watch the film several times before making their decision and watching this film even once is an ordeal.

I still fell a rejection is unlikely but some of those scenes will surely have to be cut, especially the ones that are in some ways sexual. And there's a lot of that in this film. Some very depraved ones indeed. It's impossible to go into any detail here but they are quite sickening.

The film still doesn't compare with Snuff 102 (nothing does) and it wouldn't for the BBFC either. The problem with Murder Set Pieces and also Snuff 102 is that the violence is directed almost entirely at women. Now we know the BBFC take violence against women much more seriously. One thing that would work in Philosophy's favour is that the violence is evenly balanced between men and women. Also it is all filmed in black and white, so it is not as gory as it would have been.

Even so as mentioned, Philosophy is going to have a very tough time with the BBFC if it is ever submitted.

Well I can't say I liked the film, I mean 4 hours of torture is just too much. I'm just glad I got to the end and will never watch it again.

It will be interesting to hear from anyone else who has seen this film?

Hey Angel, good to hear your thoughts on Philosophy. Yeah, it's certainly an ordeal, one of the most gruelling films I've ever seen (perhaps ever made). I feel sorry for the BBFC if they'd have to watch it several times, it's not a film i'm in a hurry to revisit any time soon. I can see what you mean though, it's so abstract and full on that it's hard to take it all in after just one viewing, I'm guessing if it was given a certificate though it's running time would probably be reduced to half, if not more of it's full four hours.
