Time we all got back to talking film!

Yeah,I've just read past where he recalls Universal backing Videodrome.
Unbelievable that a major stood by this sort of project, part financed it,promoted it AND distributed it as promised.
Amazing to thing - not the sort of film a studio would be seen with these days!

haha, I didn't have a problem with Pattinson in the film. It's the first film I've seen him in, and thought he gave a decent performance, stylised to suit the tone of the film. Shame the film itself I found tedious in the extreme . . .

Absolutely not and remember,Sidney Sceinberg chap, being one of those responsible for Gilliam's Brazil being KO'd!

Cronenberg was lucky!

To this day,Videodrome remains one of the most original pieces of film ever made.

I think Cronenberg is a brilliant filmmaker as even with his most mainstream films (The Fly, Eastern Promises, etc) they're still true to his body of work and never a sell out. He's made some grea films but of probably rate Videodrome and Dead Ringers as my favourites but I have a lot of love for The Fly and Crash too. Actually I'd be hard pushed to say that there was one of his films prior to the last two that I didn't thoroughly enjoy an I reckon Dangerous Method and Cosmopolis might be better second time around anyway.

Reminds me, I've still not seen Fast Company or M Butterfly despite owning ten for years!
The Lynch on Lynch one is a great read too.

I'll need to try this one, maybe get my head round his mind**** films!

I'm currently on the second attempt at his boxset!

Going back to Cronenberg,it beggars belief that The Dead Zone still hasn't seen the light of day in high def yet....

Another stellar cast in that one and one of Michael Kamen's finest scores...

The Dead Zone is one of my favourites of Cronenberg's.Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen and Herbert Lom are all excellent in it.I'd snap it up on Blu if it were released.

I saw A Dangerous Method over Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Not recommended for those wanting full on body horror, but an excellent character study and portrayal of relationships instead. The three main actors - Mortensen, Fassbender and even Keira Knightly are all on top form.

A film from the Cronenberg who made Spider, rather than the Cronenberg who made Shivers.
